Subject: [TrackChasers] 2013 TrackChaser Week 41 Summary
(Weekly Listserve Update #146) It is now the second half of October, and yes, for another week, we STILL have more than 20 new tracks added. This weeks additions totaled 23 new track visits added, 22 from 2013, by 10 active TrackChaser group members, and two group project drivers.
Back from his week of exile, after a stop at the NY State Fairgrounds in Syracuse on Friday, Jeff Sands joined Mike Knappenberger for a weekend in Ontario. Along the way, Jeff saw racing at five new tracks and Mike at three. Mike is now at 995 tracks and is only five tracks away from joining the "Thousand Track Club".
Dave Garrison took a weekend off from his season-long house basement renovation project and added three new dirt tracks to his track resume, two in Indiana and one in Ohio.
Edward Corrado, awaiting the publication of his book for librarians, headed to New England and saw racing at one track in Maine, one in New Hampshire.
Brian Hickey visited two new tracks as well, one in Pennsylvania and the other in Ohio.
Brian's Ohio track was at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, and he was joined there by Norm Wagner and Pam & Guy Smith, as well as the inactive but missed Rick Schneider.
P. J. Hollebrand headed to Ontario and added the same Rockton World's Fair off road democross oval that Jeff and Mike visited the following evening.
Roland Vanden Eynde attended another new Belgian Autocross to round out the new tracks for the active members last week.
Roland also contributed three new track visits for group project drivers. Emanuele Pirro visited tracks for the first time in both the United States and South Korea in the past two months. And Roland picked up on a previously unknown new track by Hans-Joachim Stuck in Germany from 2011.
The tally would have been five higher, but the scheduled figure-8 race at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, OH was canceled when only one car entered resulting in a loss of four new tracks. Edward Corrado suffered the same fate in NY, when only one car towed to Dodge City Speedway on Sunday.
The two tracks were the first for Pirro in 2013, which upped our number of different people scoring new tracks in 2013 by one, to 43. Pirro's South Korea track was also a new country for the year, with that total now at 15 and not finished yet.
Dave Garrison became the 13th to add at least 20 new tracks this year, the most in four years.
All tracks from the past week were added on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. New Locations/Tracks included the Monroe County Fairgrounds, OH; and Malderen, VLG, BEL.
Races have been added each and every one of the 41 weeks of 2013.
We started the week with 711 new track visits so far this year. During the past week, the 22 additional 2013 additions upped the count to 733. With another bigger than expected weekend for the group, 750 seems a shoe-in. But.......That's not enough, we want more!
