- Jan 22, 2014I've been doing research since 1978/79. I thought it was SO neat when ancestry came along and all this electronic help became available. I made the mistake of putting info on rootsweb.com and then discovered that part of it is not quite right. Then I could not figure out how to get back to it to make corrections. When I finally did, I realized that what I had put out there had been replicated many, many times. So even from my own work folks have copied incorrect information.I don't trust ANY information on ancestry if I can't verify it. And so much of what is out there is wrong. I think of it as being a database of suggestions...maybe something that will give me a hint of where to start doing real research.I have never put anything directly on ancestry - but I see that those who copied some of the information from me have put it out there. I cringe when I see it.Dorthy Kilgore Pugh Casten(my children are Pugh)----- Original Message -----From: sibbertSent: Wednesday, January 22, 2014 5:46 PMSubject: [Tracing_Pugh_Origins] RE: AncestryNOOOO!!!!
