Hi all, Im seeking solace again in here.. Been very stressful
eversince my baby had his trach. We thought with the trach, it will
support his breathing better and he can have more spontanenous
breathing on his own. Unfortunately his CO2s got very high till 100s
and he is still on high pressure settings.

I would really welcome ideas and tips on how we can improve his
condition. Seems like the docs had their hands full and hasn't been
much pro-active abt wat to do next with my baby? All they say, let
time tells all. 1 thing for sure, the head for NICU had told us that
premonition of baby not soo good due to his brain bleeds at birth. I
really hate to hear those, what I mean, THEY HAVE to save lives,
aint it..why bother to think abt future when there's present to work
      on..

Hope u guys who are more experienced mommies or daddies could advice
      me...please..

      Regards
      Rafeah

        Hi Rafeah,
well my little boy's co2 level changed and increased when they were
trying to make changes to his vent settings.... the way they fixed it
was bringing down the breath rate a little.... but if your baby is
too young this may not be an option yet... but they can also adjust
your babie's peep but if she is at 4 she shouldnt go any lower
because thet is our body's natural pressure.

another change they made was going from pressure control to assist
control.... depending on where you live .... you can always contact
another childrens hospital pulminary specialist if you dont get the
help you need where you are at.

        please keep us posted!
        God Bless!!
        Eunice

oh ...p.s. for God nothing is impossible... my baby was not supposed
to be here today either... and he is ... getting healthier and
happier... just keep in mind things happen when he choses them not
when we want them... (it was the hardest lesson for us to learn here)
