  • Hi You can always set up your top bar hive and put a swarm lure in it. That way the bees come to you. I have 11 hive all caught while sitting in my back yard and watching them move in to my hives. lol mike [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

  • Hi Traci I just took 1x 12s that were 4 foot long used one for each side then used 1x12 for each end just so the frame would fit and put 1x2 down each side for the frames to rest on. I made the bottom and top from 1x12s. Just built it around the frames. You can cut the 1x12s down to 1x10 but I wanted to see what they did with the extra room at the bottom. So far no bur comb. They...

  • Hi You can allso put some swarm catch lures in your empty hive or hive trap. They come from Dadant. I aways catch my swarms ever year that way and dont even have to leave the house. They will come to you. Just put the lures inside between the frams and watch the bees come and go looking at the hive for thier prospective new house. mikr
