      The Hillsborough County Bar Association is pleased to announce the dates and subjects for this year’s People’s Law School. The HCBA People’s Law School is a relatively new program for the HCBA, starting in February 2008 with the opening of the Chester H. Ferguson Law Center. The goal of the People’s Law School is to provide free legal education for the public at the layperson level.


      Attorneys and legal professionals of the Hillsborough County Bar Association will be presenting this series. They have generously offered their time to this program.


      There is no cost to attend, nor a pre-registration. Seating is on a first-come first-serve basis. The Hillsborough County Bar Association’s People’s Law School is held at the Chester H. Ferguson Law Center, 1610 N. Tampa Street, next to I-275.


      The series will be held on the following dates:


      ·         September 11, 2008,6-8pm Family Law, Child Custody, Divorce, Child Support

      ·         September 25, 2008, 6-8pm, Foreclosures

      ·         October 9, 2008, 6-8pm, Bankruptcy

      ·         October 23, 2008, 6-8pm, Consumer Complaints/ Identity Theft

      ·         November 6, 2008, 6-8pm, Alternatives to a jury trial: Small Claims Court & Mediations

      ·         November 20, 2008, 6-8pm, Landlord/ Tenant Disputes

      ·         December 4, 2008, 6-8pm, Immigration Law

      ·         December 18, 2008, 6-8pm, Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning/ Probate Court


      Join us for this informative series whether you have a specific question, pending legal matter, or neither this class will educate you on these specific areas of law. Attending this educational series can provide you with tools and information to protect your rights.
