Come to Judicial Forum
The LWVSPA and the St. Petersburg Bar Association will present a judicial candidates forum on August 13 at 6 p.m. in the Mann Lounge at Stetson University College of Laws Gulfport campus 1401 - 61st St. S.
The public is invited to learn more about the candidates running for the two judicial openings in Pinellas and Pasco Counties. Stetson Law is hosting the forum.
Three lawyers are running for the seat vacated by Pinellas Circuit Judge Marion Fleming, who is approaching retirement. They are Violet Assaid of the Pinellas-Pasco Public Defenders Office, Mary Handsel of the New Port Richey division of the State Attorneys Office and Bruce Howie of Clearwater.
Three candidates are running for the seat vacated by Pasco Circuit Judge Wayne Cobb, who is also retiring. They are attorney Kenneth Foote of Port Richey, Susan Gardner of Pinellas-Pasco Public Defenders Office, and attorney Robert Angus Williams of Fowler White Boggs Banker P.A. in Tampa.
DIRECTIONS:Traveling I-275 from the north, take Exit #19/22nd Avenue South and bear to the right onto 22nd Avenue South. (or take US 19/34th St. S and turn west on 22nd Ave. S.) Continue for 2.6 miles (street name will change to Gulfport Blvd.). Stetson College of Law is located on the right at 1401 - 61st St. S. Turn right on 61th. Street South. The main campus is on your left and the Law Library is on the right with limited parking available next to the Law Library.
