- From Sara over at Prancing_Pony_Partisans...
It started with a shot of a dirty hand, the Ring laying upon its
palm. But it wasn't lean enough to be Frodo's hand - it was bigger
and meatier... who's could it be? ;)
Then, over a shot of Frodo and Sam following a flashing glimpse of
Gollum disappearing into some tall grass, we hear Pippin's voice. "Is
there any hope, Gandalf? For Frodo and Sam?" As Sam follows Frodo and
Gollum into the grass, he turns and gives a wary glance over his
shoulder, as if he has a bad feeling about what they're walking
The scene then cuts to Gandalf, replying to Pippin's question (and a
scene clearly taken straight from the book, as it appears they are
both looking out of a window or over a ledge in Minas Tirith): "There
was never much hope," he says gravely. A shot of Pippin looking
thoughtful and sad, then back to Gandalf: "Only a fool's hope". Then
we see a harrowing close-up of Frodo's face, covered in dirt or soot,
his eyes bloodshot - he seems to be crawling.
Next we have Merry, kneeling upon the ground in front of
someone. "You will see the Shire again," he says, at which time the
scene cuts to Pippin, looking down upon him, crying. Then a white
horse, streaking through a dark wood.
Next we see a bunch of Orcs, followed by Faramir standing inside a
white-walled room speaking to someone behind the camera's eye. "My
lord, Osigiliath is overrun.." Cut to a shot of a dark street,
soldiers mounted on horses, flames or torches. Then a voice over: "I
would see you happy..." - a shot of Eowyn, her hair blowing back in
the breeze, followed by Theoden speaking. "...not mourning for those
whose time has come." Cut to a shot of two soliders on a battlefied,
one on their knees cradling the weeping figure of another. Both are
helmeted and clad in mail - but, though it might have just been my
overheated imagination, the face of the soldier cradling the other
seemed to me far too DELICATE and FEMININE to be a man's... :O
We then see Aragorn, kneeling down, looking at something on the grass
or back at something on lower ground. Gandalf's voice again,
saying: "The board is set..." We see him upon Shadowfax, who nimbly
runs up a flight of stone steps to join a number of soldiers high
upon a battlement, looking at a sea of enemies approaching over a
field. "...the pieces are moving..." Soldiers on horses, Aragorn - in
the livery of Gondor, leading troops AWAY (?) from the city. "...the
great battle of our age has come."
Then armies rushing, a city courtyard overrun, flashes of fire. Sam,
surrounded by darkness, looking at Frodo with an anxious
expression. "Don't you see it?! He's leading us into a trap!" The
latter part of this statement is heard over a shot of Frodo, looking
wildly about him, followed by a small cloaked figure running pell-
mell down a twisting, turning tunnel full of cave-like openings. We
then see Gollum, speaking to his own reflection in a pool of
water: "The Precious will be ours... As soon as the Hobbits.." And I
think he says here "falls", but it was hard to tell.
More armies on the battlefield, Theoden wearing his helmet and
crying "Forth!"...then over a montage of battle scenes, a strong,
male voice crying: "On to ruin and the [world's ending??]." Then a
shot of Aragorn, again in the livery of Gondor, facing a towering foe
and preparing to desperately swing his sword. Finally, Gandalf on
Shadowfax, turning a stone corner to be confronted by a Nazgul on a
fell beast, landing before him and blocking his way. The picture
fades to black, and the title appears, followed by "December 2003".

- Don't think she'd mind at all. I've shared it with this one, ChristianTolkienFans, and of course she posted it originally over at
Prancing_Pony_Partisans. So avoid these three groups, to avoid cross-posting but she said she didn't mind it being forwarded.
Awesome description! It sounds like RotK is going to be incredible! Do you think that Sara would mind if I shared her description with a couple of other lists that I am on?
