      Some good ideas! I do even have a TTA website with a forum, picture galleries, personal blogs, and the like. But I need to repair some database stuff on it when I have the time. :-P But I kinda like a mailing list. Message boards I eventually forget to go check. Even Facebook I check like twice a year. Here all my messages from different lists all go into my mailbox, and can use my nice email clients on phone and computer to reply.

      And yes, spam can be bad on any list, and why you have to either restrict membership, or moderate messages. Yahoo has a nice option where you can set each member's moderation status, and set it so new members are mod'd by default. And once they can show they're not posting spam I can switch them to unmod'd. If you do that you should be able to keep spam low (you can't stop a trusted member's computer getting infected and sending out spam).

      But definitely thanks for the suggestions! I'm always glad to find ways to improve things.
