Hi Keith, There are one or two books that may be of use but it depends if you want to build and authentic yurt or whether you prefer a modern US-style yurt.

Subject: [The_Yurt_Community] new addition to yurt community

Hi, just joined tonight. I am interested in sustainable living and off
grid housing. I currently rent a house in the city but am beginning to
cultivate the knowledge and resources to someday (in the next year)
build a yurt and then hopefully construct a power supply. I am
interested if any of you folks could recommend books or resources for
this novice. I am in the southeastern US, North Carolina, where it is
humid, hot in the summers, and tolerable in the winters but it can get
cold. I have looked at yurts in the past but have now decided to get
serious about this project. I would be interested in anything you have
to offer on the subject of buying land and picking a location. Thanks
a lot, Keith Wells, Winston salem, NC
