The following passages from Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and Proverbs clearly demonstrate that a thief robs a hireling, when instead of paying the him his wages that same day, the thief withholds wages from the hireling until the next day.

      Deuteronomy 24:10-15
10] When thou shall ask of thy neighbor anything which he owes to thee, thou shall not enter into his house, that thou take away a wed (pledge); 11] but thou shall stand withoutforth (outside), and he shall bring forth that, that he has. 12] Soothly (truly) if he is poor, THE WED (PLEDGE) SHALL NOT DWELL BY NIGHT (*1) WITH THEE, 13] BUT AT ONCE THOU SHALL YIELD TO HIM BEFORE SUNSET (*2), that he sleep in his habilment (clothing), and bless thee, and thou have rightfulness before Amighty Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah). 14] THOU SHALL NOT DENY THE HIRE OF THY BROTHER NEEDY AND POOR, or of the comeling (stranger) that dwells with thee in thy land, and is within thy gates; 15] BUT IN THE SAME DAY THOU SHALL PAY TO HIM THE PRICE OF HIS LABOR, BEFORE SUNSET (*2), for he is poor, and sustains thereof his life; lest he cry against thee to Almighty Iehouah (Yahuah), and it be acredited to thee as sin.

      Proverbs 3:27,28
27] Do not thou forbid to do well him that may; if thou may, and do thou well. 28] SAY THOU NOT TO THY FRIEND, GO, AND TURN AGAIN, AND MORN (*1) I SHALL GIVE TO THEE; when thou may give at once.

The following passages demonstrate the Daily Cycle. The Waking and Working Hours for Man are the Daylight Hours. The Waking and Feeding Hours for Wild Beasts are the Nighttime Hours. While Man is Awake in the Daylight Hours, the Wild Beasts are at Rest; and when the Wild Beasts are Awake in the Nighttime Hours, Man is at Rest.

      Psalm 103:20-24 (104:20-24 Modern versions)
20] THOU HAVE SET DARKNESS (*1), AND MORWENYNG (*2) IS MADE; ALL BEASTS OF THE WOOD (FOREST) SHOULD GO THEREIN. 21] Lions' whelps roaring for to ravish; AND TO SEEK OF IEHOUAH (JEHOVAH/YAHUAH) FOOD FOR THEMSELVES. 22] THE SUN IS RISEN, and those are gathered together; and those should be set in their couches (dens). 23] A MAN SHALL GO OUT TO HIS WORK; AND TO HIS WORKING UNTIL DAY SETTLING (*3).

      (Essene) Tibetan Gospel 8:16,24
16] We say unto thee, THE SUN ACTETH NOT SPONTANEOUSLY, but by the will of the Invisible Creators who have given it existence, and who have willed that THIS ORB SHOULD LIGHT THE DAY AND WARM THE LABORS AND CROPS OF HUMANITY. 22] Thy doctrine is therefore the fruit of thy errors, for in desiring to approach the Aumen of Truth, y have created false gods. 23] After listening to them, the wise ones resolved to do them no harm. 24] IN THE NIGHT, WHILE THE CITY WAS WRAPPED IN SLUMBER, THEY CONDUCTED THEM THE FALSE GODS) OUTSIDE THE WALLS AND LEFT THEM ON THE HIGHWAY HOPING THAT THEY WOULD SOON BECOME THE PREY OF WILD BEASTS.

      2 Maccabees 5:24-26
24] And when HE (APPOLONIUS) WAS SET AGAINST JEWS, he sent ann odious (offensive/hated) prince, Appolonius, with a host (army) two and twenty thousdand, and command to him FOR TO SLAY ALL MEN OF PERFECT AGE, for to sell femes (women) and young children. 25] Which WHEN HE CAME TO JERUSALEM, FEIGNED PEACE, AND RESTED UNTIL THE HOLY DAY OF SABBATH (*1). AND THEN WHILE THE JEWS HELD HOLY DAY (*2), HE COMMANDED HIS HIS MEN FOR TO TAKE ARMORERS, 26] AND STRANGLED ALL THAT CAME FORTH together to the beholding; and he ran about the city with armed men, and slew a grand (great) multitude.

(*1) By context it is shown that Appolonius waited until Dawn of the Day of Sabbath, when the Jews were at rest from their common, ordinary Hours of Labors. On any other Day, it would have been the beginning of their common, ordinary Hours of Labor; in obedience to the 4th Commandment to Labor 6 Days, and rest on the Sabbath Day.
(*2) Holding Holy Day can only mean taking a Sabbath Day's rest from an otherwise ordinary Day of Labor.

      3 Maccabees 4:14,15 (RSV)
14] The entire race (Yahudim/Jews) was to be registered individually, not for the hard labor that has been briefly mentioned before, but to be tortured with the outrages that he (King Ptolemy Philopator) had ordered, and at the end to be destroyed in the space of a single day. 15] THE REGISTRATION OF THE PEOPLE WAS THEREFORE CONDUCTED WITH BITTER HASTE AND ZEALOUS INTENTNESS FROM THE RISING OF THE SUN (*1) TILL ITS SETTING (*2), and though uncompleted it stopped after forty days.

      1 Adam & Eve 13:12,20
12] Strengthen your heart, and be not afraid. This darkness is not a punishment. But, O Adam, I HAVE MADE THE DAY, and have placed the sun in it to give light; IN ORDER THAT YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN SHOULD DO YOUR WORK. 20] And, O Adam,  I HAVE MADE THE DAY SO THAT YOU AND YOUR DESCENDANTS CAN WORK AND TOIL IN IT. AND I HAVE MADE THE NIGHT FOR THEM TO REST IN IT FROM THEIR WORK; AND FOR THE BEASTS OF THE FIELD TO GO FORTH BY NIGHT AND LOOK FOR THEIR FOOD.

      Ruth 2:6,7,17
      06] ... This is the woman of Moab, that came with Naomi from the country of Moab; and she prayed, 07] that SHE (RUTH) SHOULD GATHER EARS OF CORN (GRAIN) she should gather ears of corn leaving behind, and follow the steps of reapers; and FROM THE MORN (*1) til now she stands in the field, and for truth neither at a moment she turned away home. 17] Therefore SHE GATHERED IN THE FIELD UNTIL DAY SETTLING (*2);

In the following passage we find that Peter's companions were still awake in the Light of the Evening; and Peter is quoted as saying, "It is not possible to be altogether without sleep; otherwise Night would not have been made for rest." Peter says that every Night was a time of rest. Peter makes it clear that Night is the common time of rest given by Yahuah. This is important to understand because it also determines that the Sabbath rest that was hallowed and consecrated by Yahuah DOES NOT in include any of the common nighttime hours of rest - save the exception of the Day of Atonement found in the whole of Leviticus 16; and again in Leviticus 23:32.

Clement Recognitions Bk 2 Chpt 1
..... AS THE EVENING LIGHT (*1) WAS STILL LASTING, we all sat down; and Peter, seeing that WE WERE AWAKE, and that we were giving attention to him, having saluted us, immediately began to speak, as follows:- "I confess, brethren, that I wonder at the power of human nature, which I see to be fit and suited to every call upon it. This, however, IT OCCURS TO ME (PETER) TO SAY OF WHAT I HAVE FOUND BY EXPERIENCE, THAT WHEN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT (*2) IS PAST, I AWAKE OF MY OWN ACCORD, AND SLEEP DOES NOT COME TO ME AGAIN. This happens to me for this reason, ......... For IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO BE ALTOGETHER WITHOUT SLEEP; OTHERWISE NIGHT (*3) WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MADE FOR REST."

Here we find that the Priests have resorted to making no distinction between Yahuah's holy things and the unholy or common things. And this is exactly what the Priests and pastors have done by blindly following Jewish tradition without proving all things as admonished by scripture. They are making holy the common - unholy, unconsecrated - hours of Darkness that Yahuah gave us as everyday hours of rest. This brings to our attention that THE ONLY SABBATH that consists Hours of Daylight and Darkness, is the 24 Hours of Sabbath on the Day of Atonement which actually falls on two days - from Even on the 9th day of the 7th Month to Even on the 10th Day of the 7th Month. This is shown in Leviticus Chpt 16; and Leviticus 23:32. All 7th Day Sabbaths consist of the 12 scriptural Hours of Daylight, which on any other Day would be the Hours of Labor.

      Ezekiel 22:23-26
23] And the word of Yahuah was made to me, 24] and he said, Son of man, se thou to it, Thou are a lamd unclean, and not be-rained (rained upon) in the day of strong vengence 25] Swearing together, or conspiring of prophets is in the midst thereof; as a lion roaring and taking prey, they devoured men, they took riches and price; they mulitiplied widows in the midst thereof. 26] PRIESTS THEREOF DESPISED MINE LAW, and defouled (spoiled) mine sanctuaries; THAT THEY HAD NOT DIFFERENCE BETWIXT HOLY THING AND UNHOLY, they understood not betwixt defouled (spoiled) thing and clean thing; AND THEY TURNED AWAY THEIR EYES FROM MINE SABBATHS, and I was defouled (spoiled) in the midst of them.
The following passage instruct men to labor all Day long, but when the Sun Sets they are to take up their ordinary Sleep of Rest; and to Sleep all Night long. And then upon the Morrow - the Next Day - they were to wake again.

Essene Gospel of Peace Bk 1 1:114,115
( 114 ) "And YAHUAH WILL SEND YOU EACH MORNING (*1) THE ANGEL OF SUNSHINE TO WAKE YOU FROM YOUR SLEEP. Therefore, obey your Heavenly Father's summons, and lie not idle in your beds, for the angels of air and water await you already without. And LABOR ALL DAY LONG with the angels of the Earthly Mother that you may come to know them and their works ever more and more well. BUT WHEN THE SUN IS SET, AND YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER SENDS YOU HIS MOST PRECIOUS ANGEL, SLEEP, THEN TAKE YOUR REST, AND BE ALL THE NIGHT (*2) WITH THE ANGEL OF SLEEP. And then will your Heavenly Father send you his unknown angels, that they may be with you the livelong night. And the Heavenly Father's unknown angels will teach you many things concerning the kingdom of Yahuah, even as the angels that you know of the Earthly Mother, instruct you in the things of her kingdom. For I tell you truly, you will be every night the guests of the kingdom of your Heavenly Father, if you do his commandments. AND WHEN YOU WAKE UP UPON THE MORROW (*1), you will feel in you the power of the unknown angels. And your Heavenly Father will send them to you every night, that they may build your spirit, even as every day the Earthly Mother sends you her angels, that they may build your body. For I tell you truly, if in the daytime your Earthly Mother folds you in her arms, and in the night the Heavenly Father breathes his kiss upon you, then will the Sons of Men become the Sons of God. (.115.) RESIST DAY AND NIGHT (*2) THE TEMPTATIONS OF SATAN. WAKE NOT BY NIGHT (*2), NEITHER SLEEP BY DAY (*3), lest the angels of Yahuah depart from you.

      NUMBERS

      Numbers 11:31,32
31] Forsoothe (for truth) a wind went from Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah), and took quails and bare over the sea, and left into the tents, in the journey, as much as may be performed in one day, by each part (portion) of the tents by compass; and those flown in the air by two cubits in highness over the earth. 32] Therefore THE PEOPLE ROSE IN ALL THAT DAY (*1) AND NIGHT (*2) AND INTO THE NEXT DAY (*3), and gathered the multitude of quails; he that gathered little, gathered ten measures called chorus; and a chorus contains ten bushels; and they dried thse quails by the compass of the tents.

Philo is noted to have written in his native tongue. As an Alexandrian (Egyptian) Jew, that would have been Greek. Therefore it is reasonable to apply Strong's Greek definitions. The passage from Philo's Biblical Antiquities shows that the Daily Cycle continues into the Night; in v 7 we learn that Balaam rose early in the Daylight, and that Balaam was talking present tense - not future tense - of this Night; as would be the case if the Daily Cycle indeed began anew at Sunset.

      Biblical Antiquities of Philo 18:3,4,7,8
03] And Balaam said: (Numbers 22:17) Lo, this is good in the sight of Balac, but he knoweth not that the counsel of Yahuah is not as man's counsel. And he knoweth not that the spirit which is given unto us is given for a time, and our ways are not guided except Yahuah will. Now therefore abide ye (Numbers 22:8,9) here, and I WILL SEE WHAT YAHUAH WILL SAY TO ME THIS NIGHT (*1). 04] AND IN THE NIGHT (*2) YAHUAH SAID UNTO HIM: Who are the men that are come unto thee? And Balaam said: Wherefore, Yahuah, dost thou tempt the race of man? (Numbers 22:13) 07] AND BALAAM AROSE IN THE MORN (*2) and said: Go your way, for Yahuah will not have me to come with you. ..... 08] And Balaam said to them: Lo, the son of Sephor is foolish, and knoweth not that he (Numbers 22:19) dwelleth hard by (lit. round about) the dead: And NOW TARRY HERE THIS NIGHT (*1) and I will see what Yahuah will say unto me. And Yahuah said to him: Go with them, and thy journey shall be an offence, and Balac himself shall go unto destruction. And he arose and went with them.

Again we have Philo making a clear distinction between the present Daily Cycle continuing into This Night; with a New Day breaking forth at Dawn.

      Biblical Antiquities of Philo 23:1-4
01] And Jesus (*1) the son of Naue (Nun) ordered (Joshua 24) the people and divided unto them the land, being a mighty man of valor. And while yet the adversaries of Israel were in the land, the days of Jesus (*) drew near that he should die, and he sent and called all Israel throughout all their land with their wives and their children, and said unto them: Gather yourselves together before the ark of the covenant of Yahuah in Silo and I will make a covenant with you before I die. 02] And when ALL THE PEOPLE WERE GATHERED TOGETHER ON THE 16th DAY OF THE 3rd MONTH BEFORE THE FACE OF YAHUAH in Silo with their wives and their children, Jesus (*1) said unto them: Hear, O Israel, behold I make with you the covenant of this law which Yahuah ordained with our fathers in Oreb, and therefore TARRY YE HERE THIS NIGHT (OF THE 16th DAY OF THE 3rd MONTH) and see (Numbers 22:19) what Yahuah will say unto me concerning You. 03] And as THE PEOPLE WAITED THERE THAT NIGHT (*2), Yahuah appeared unto Jesus (Joshua) in a vision and spake saying: According to all these words will I speak unto this people. 04] AND JESUS (*1) CAME IN THE MORN (*3) AND ASSEMBLED ALL THE PEOPLE

      Deuteronomy 16:1-7
01] Keep thou the month of new fruits, and of the beginning of summer, that thou make Passover to Almighty Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah); for in this month Almighty Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) led thee out of Egypt in the night. 02] And thou shall offer Passover to Almighty Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah), of sheep and of oxen, in the place which Almighty Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) chooses, that his name dwell there. 03] Thou shall not eat therein bread dight (prepared) with (fermented/leavened) sourdough; in seven days thou shall eat bread of afliction, without sourdough (fermented/leavened), for in dread thou went out of Egypt, that thou have mind (remembrance) of the day of thy going out of Egypt, in all the days of thy life. 04] NOTHING DIGHT (PREPARED) WITH SOURDOUGH (FERMENTED/LEAVENED) SHALL APPEAR IN ALL THY LIMITS BY SEVEN DAYS, AND OF ALL THE FLESH OF THAT, THAT IS OFFERED IN THE DAY SETTLING (*1), SHALL NOT DWELL (BE LEFT OVER) IN THE FIRST DAY (OF THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD - ABIB 15) IN THE MORN (*2). 05] Thou shall not more offer Passover in each of thy cities which Almighty Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) shall give to thee, 06] but in the place which Almighty Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) chooses, that his name dwell there; THOU SHALL OFFER THE PASSOVER AT EVEN (*3), AT SUNSET (*4), when thou went out of Egypt. 07] And thou shall seethe, and eat, in the place which Almighty Iehouah (Jehoavh/Yahuah) has chosen, AND THOU SHALL RISE IN THE MORN (*2) OF THE SECOND DAY (OF THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD - ABIB 16), and thou shall go in to thy tabernacles (tents).

The Law of Burial stipulates that a man is to be buried the Same Day he dies. These burials can be performed at Night and still meet the requirements of the Law in Deuteronomy Chpt 21, because a New Day begins with Sunrise.

      Deuteronomy 21:23
22] WHEN A MAN DOES A SIN WHICH IS WORTHY TO BE PUNISHED BY DEATH, and he is deemed to death, AND IS HANGED IN A TREE, 23] HIS CARION (CARCASSE) SHALL NOT DWELL IN THE TREE, BUT BE BURIED IN THE SAME DAY (*1); for he that hangeth in the cross is cursed of Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah), and thou shall not defile thy land which Almighty Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) gave to thee to possess.

This is the account where Abner runs a spear through Asahel, killing him. Notice that we are told that Asahel died before Sundown. We know he was buried before Sunrise the Next Day because he had already been buried by Joab in Bethlehem by the time that Joab and all the men with him went all That Night, and came into Hebron the Next Day.

      2 Samuel 2:23-32
23] And Asahel despised here and would not bow away. Therefore ABNER SMOTE HIM (ASAHEL) WITH THE SPEAR turned away in the sheaf, and run through, and he was dead in the same place; and all the men passed by the place in which ASHAEL FELL DOWN AND WAS DEAD, stood still. 24] Indeed while Joab and Abishai pursued Abner fleeing, THE SUN SET (*1); and they came to the little hill of the water conduit, which is even against the valley, and the way of the desert in Gibeon. 25] And the sons of Benjamin were gathered to Abner, and they were gathered together into one company, and stood in the highness of one heap of earth. 26] And Abner cried to Joab and said, Shall thy sword be fierce in slaying? Know not thou that dispair is perilous? How long say thou not to the people, that it cease to pursue his brethren? 27] And Joab said, Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) lives, for if thou had spoken early, the people pursuing his brother had gone away. 28] And Joab sounded with a clarion (shrill silver trumpet), and all the host stood; and they pursued Israel no further, neither began battle. 29] INDEED ABNER AND HIS MEN WENT BY THE FIELDS OF MOAB ALL NIGHT (*2) (AWAY FROM JOAB), and passed Jordan; and when all Bithron was compassed, they came to the castels (camps). 30] Verily when Abner was left, Joab turned again, and gathered together all the people; and ten men and nine, except Asahel, failed of the children of David. 31] Indeed the servants of David smote of Benjamin, and the men that were with Abner, three hundred men and sixty, which were dead. 32] AND THEY TOOK ASAHEL, AND BURIED HIM in the sepulcre of his father in Bethlehem. AND JOAB, AND THE MEN THAT WERE WITH HIM, WENT ALL NIGHT (*2), AND IN THE MORN (*3) THEY CAME TO HEBRON.

The following passage from the Apocryphal Book of Tobit. In v 3 we find that a son of Israel laid in the street strangled. While it is not plainly said that this man was hanged, given Tobias' dread of Yahuah to bury the man in the Night indicates that the man was strangled by hanging and that Tobias; son of Naphtali; was indeed obeying the law of burial found in Deuteronomy.

Tobit 2:3-9 (see also 1599 Geneva; 1611 KJV)
      03] And when he (Tobias) was gone, he turned again, and told him, that ONE OF THE SONS OF ISRAEL LAY STRANGLED (*1) IN THE STREET;
and at once he skipped from his sitting place, and left the meal, and came fasting to the body; and HE (TOBIAS) TOOK IT, 04] AND BEAR IT TO HIS HOUSE PRIVILY, FOR TO BURY HIM WARILY (*2), WHEN THE SUN WAS GONE DOWN (*3). 05] And when he had hid the body, he ate bread with mourning and trembling, 06] and remembered that word, which Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) said by Amos, the prophet, Your feast days should be turned into mourning and lamentation, and wailing. 07] VERILY WHEN THE SUN SET (*3). TOBIAS WENT, AND BURIED HIM. 08] Indeed all his neighbors blamed him, and said, Now for the cause of this thing thou were commanded to be slain, and unless thou escape the commandment of death; and again bury thou dead men? 09] But TOBIAS DREADED IEHOUAH (JEHOVAH/YAHUAH) MORE THAN THE KING, AND TOOK AWAY BODIES OF SLAIN MEN, and hid them in his house, AND BURIED THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHTS (*4).

It seems; however; that the labor of burial is a job proscribed on Sabbath day:

      2 Maccabees 12:30-32,37-39
30] Forsoothe (for truth) these Jews that were among Scythopolitans witnessed, that they were had of them benignly (favorably), yeah, in times of adversity, and they did milgly with them. 31] they did thankings to them; and also strode from hence stirred from henceforth for to be benign (kind) against their kindred, and came to Jerusalem, when the solemnity Day (Feast) of Weeks nighed. 32] And after Pentecost, they went against Gorgias, sovereign of Idumea. 36] And when they taht were with Esdrin fought longer, and they were made weary, Yahudah (Judah) inwardly cleped (called) Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) for to be made helper, and duke of battle; and he began with country voice, 37] and with hymns raised cry, and made the knights of Gorgias to flee. 38] Forsooth (for truth) YAHUDAH (JUDAH) WITH HIS HOST (ARMY) GATHERED, CAME INTO THE CITY OF ADULLAM; AND WHEN THE SABBATH (*1) DAYED (*2), THEY WERE CLEANSED BY CUSTOM, AND THEY DID SABBATH (*1) IN THE SAME PLACE. 39] AND ON THE MORWE (*3) YAHUDAH (JUDAH) CAME WITH HIS MEN, FOR TO TAKE AWAY BODIES OF MEN CAST DOWN (*4), and for to put with fathers, and mothers, in sepulcres of fathers.

      JOSHUA

      Joshua 4:1-6,19-22
01] And when they were passed over, Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) said to Joshua (Yahshua), 02] Choose thou twelve men, 03] by each lineage one man, and command thou to them, that they take from the midst of the trough of (river) Jordan, where the feet of priests stood, twelve hardest stones; which thou shall set in the place of encampments, where YE SHOULD SET TABERNACLES IN THIS NIGHT (*1). 04] And Joshua called twelve men, which he had chosen of the sons of Israel, of each lineage one man; 05] and he said to them, Go ye before the ark of Almighty Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) to the midst of (River) Jordan, and bear ye from thence in your shoulders each man a stone, by the number of the sons of Israel, 06] that it be a sign betwixt ye. And WHEN YOUR SONS SHOULD ASK YOU TO-MORROW (*2), that is, in time to-coming (the future), and should say, What were these stones to themselves? 19] Forsooth (for truth) the people ascended from (River) Jordan in the tenth day of the first month, and they set tents in Gilgal, against the east coast (side) of the city of Jericho. 20] Also Joshua put in Gilgal the twelve stones, which they had taken from the trough of (River) Jordan. 21] And he said to the sons of Israel, WHEN YOUR SONS SHOULD ASK TO-MORROW (*2) their fathers, and should say to them, What were theses stones to themselves? 22] ye should tell them, We passed this (River) Jordan by the dry bottom.

Soothly (truly) the next coming people followed the ark, and sounded with clarions. 14] AND THEY COMPASSED (ENCIRCLED) THE CITY IN THE SECOND DAY ONCE, and turned again into the encampments; so they did in six days. 15] SOOTHLY (TRULY) IN THE SEVENTH DAY THEY ROSE EARLY (*3), and compassed the city, as it was disposed, seven times.

(*1) Middle English Nyytertale - Night. There is a discrepency in word for word composition between the KJV and the 1384 Wycliffe Bible in this instance. Attention also needs to be given that verses 9 and 10 below show that the Night preceding Sunrise is the last half of the previous Daily Cycle, and that at Sunrise is the Morrow - the Next Day - demonstrating that the scriptural Daily Cycle begins and ends with Sunrise. It also very plainly states that Joshua (Yahshua) stood in the valley That Night in which he arose Early.

      Joshua 8:2,9,10,13
02] And thou shall do to the city of Ai and to the king thereof as thou did to Jericho, and to the king thereof; verily ye should take you the prey, and all living beasts; set thou spies, and ambushments to the city behind it. 03] And JOSHUA (YAHUSHA) ROSE AND ALL THE HOST OF FIGHTERS WITH HIM, TO ASCEND INTO AI; AND BY NIGHT (*1) HE SENT THIRTY CHOSEN THOUSAND OF STRONG MEN; 09] And Joshua left them and they went to the place of ambushments, and sat betwixt Bethel and Ai, at the west coast of the city of Ai. Again the KJV uses Morning (Strong's H # 1242 Boqer), but it is clear from the context of vvs 10-13 that Morning is again used in its proper context as being part of the Night, and the Strong has incorrectly keyed the word Morning.

      JUDGES

The following are lessons from the Book of Judges that demonstrate that the scriptural 24 hour Daily Cycle indeed runs from Sunrise-to-Sunrise.

The passages below are of the account of Gideon breaking down the altar of Baal. We start with:

1 ) v 24 & 25: Gideon built an altar to Yahuah, and the Same Night Yahuah spoke to Gideon - this indicates That Night is the Latter Half of the Previous Daily Cyc
      le.
2 ) Gideon took ten men to cut down the Asherah By Night (v 27) and the men of the city found the altar of Baal broken The Next Day (v 28) - again it is demonstrated That Night is the Latter Half of the Previous Daily Cyc
      le.
3 ) Gideon received a sign from Yahuah, that of the fleece being wet with the dew in the Night (v 38). On That Day that Gideon had wrung the dew from the fleece Yahuah gave Gideon a second sign That Night - that of the fleece being dry while dew covered the ground (v 40) - yet again demostrating That Night follows Day, and is the Latter Half of the Previous Daily Cyc
      le.

There is a small discrepncy in v 38 between Wycliffe (along with the 1899 Douay-Rheims) and the other translations, in that Wycliffe presents Gideon as receiving his signs from Yahuah in the Same Night, while the other versions have it occuring on Two Consecutive Nights. It would seem to more plausible that Yahuah would perform his miraculous act, by giving both signs to Gideon in the Same Night, rather than giving them to Gideon on seperate Nights, thereby leaving any doubt as to His own divine power.

      Judges 6:23-40
23] And Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) said to him, Peace be with thee; dread thou not, thou shall not die. 24] THEREFORE GIDEON BUILT AN ALTAR TO IEHOUAH (JEHOVAH/YAHUAH), and he cleped (called) it Peace of Iehouah (Jehovah / Yahuah), unto the present day. And when he was yet in Ophrah, which is of the company (household) of the Abiezerites, IEHOUAH (JEHOAVH/YAHUAH) SAID UNTO HIM IN THAT NIGHT (*1), 25] Take thou the bull of thy father, and another bull of seven years, and thou shall destroy the altar of Baal, which is thy father's, and cut thou down the wood (Asherah poles), which is about the altar; 26] and thou shall build an altar to Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) Almighty in the highness of this stone, on which thou put sacrifice before; and thou shall take the second bull, and thou shall offer burnt sacrifice on the heap of trees, which thou cut down of the wood (Asherah poles). 27] THEREFORE GIDEON TOOK TEN MEN OF HIS SERVANTS, AND DID AS IEHOUAH (JEHOVAH / YAHUAH) COMMANDED TO HIM. Soothly (truly) GIDEON DREADED THE HOUSE OF HIS FATHER, and the men of that city, AND WOULD NOT DO BY DAY (*2), BUT FULFILLED ALL THINGS BY NIGHT (*3). 28] AND WHEN THE MEN OF THAT CITY ROSE EARLY (*4), the saw the altar of Baal destroyed, and the wood (Aserah poles) cut down, and the other bull put on the altar, that was built then. 29] And they said together, Who has done this? And when they enquired the doer of this deed, it was said, Gideon, the son of Joash, did all these things. 30] And they said to Joash, Bring forth thy son hither, that he die, for he destroyed the altar of Baal, and cut down the wood (Asherah poles). 31] To which he answered, WHETHER YE BE THE AVENGERS OF BAAL, THAT YE FIGHT FOR HIM? HE THAT IS ADVERSARY OF HIM, DIE, BEFORE THE LIGHT OF THE MORROW DAY (*5) COME; if he is Almighty avenge he himself that cast down his altar. 32] FROM THAT DAY (*6) GIDEON WAS CLEPED (CALLED) JERUBBAAL, for Joash had said, Baal take vengence of him that cast down his altar. 33] Therefore all Midian and Amalek, and his peoples of the east were gathered together, and passed Jordan, and set tents in the valley of Jezreel. Forsooth (for truth) the Spirit of Iehouah (Jehovah/ Yahuah) habiltated (clothed) Gideon, and he sounded a clarion (shrill silver trumpet), and cleped (called) together the house of Abiezer, that it should follow him. 34 Forsothe the spirit of Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah) habilitated (clothed) Gideon; and he sounded with a clarioun, and cleped (called) together the house of Abiezer, that it should follow him. 35] And he sent sender-bidders (messengers) into all Manasseh, and he followed Gideon; and he sent other sender-bidders (messengers) into Asher, and Zebulon, and Naphtali, which came to him. 36] And Gideon said to Iehouah (Jehovah / Yahuah), If thou make safe Israel by mine hand, as thou have spoken, 37] I shall put this fleece of wool in the cornfloor (threshing floor); if the dew is in the fleece alone; and dryness is in all the earth, I shall know, that thou shall deliver Israel by mine hand, as thou have spoken. 38] And it was done so. And when HE (GIDEON) ROSE BY NIGHT (*7), when the fleece was wrung out, he filled a pot with dew; 39] and he said to Iehouah (Jehovah/Yahuah), Thy strong vengence be not wroth against me, if I assay (test), that is ask a sign, yet once, and seek a sign in the fleece; I pray, that the fleece alone be dry, and all the earth be moist with dew. 40] AND IEHOUAH (JEHOVAH/YAHUAH) DID IN THAT NIGHT(*3), AS GIDEON ASKED; and dryness was in the fleece alone, and dew was in all the earth.

      (*1) Middle English Thet Nyytertale - That Night. Equates with Strong's H # 2088 & 3117 - Zeh Yom - This; Self Same Day.
      (*2) Middle English Dage - Day. Equates with Strong's H # 3119 Yomam - Daytime.
      (*3) Middle English Nyytertale - Night. Equates with Strong's H # 3915 Layil - Night; (Mid)Night season.
(*4) Middle English Arly - Early. Equates with Middle English Morwenynge Morning; also Middle English Uhtentid, from Old English root word Uhte - a German loan word meaning the part of the night before daybreak. Strong, however, has keyed Early Morning as H # 7925 & # 1242 - Shakam Boqer - Early the next Day. But, again, by context it is clear that the correct use of the word Morning; that is Pre-Dawn time of Night; is the correct meaning.
(*5) Middle English Lyyte of the Morwen Dage - Light of the Morrow Day. Equates with Middle English Morwen - Morn; Dawn; Morrow; Next Day. Equates with Strong's H # 5704 & H #1242 - Ad Boqer - While still Dawn; Morrow.
      (*6) Middle English Thet Dage - That Day. Equates with Strong's H # 1931 & H # 3117 - Hu/Hiy Yom - That Day; Same Day. Same.
(*7) Middle English Nyytertale - Night. Strong has keyed this as H # 7925 & H # 1242 - Early in the Morning Boqer. This does not make sense. It is quite obvious from the context of Wycliffe's translation that the intended sense of the verse was to indicate that Gideon rose before Sunrise while it was still Night.

Again we have an account of Gideon: Yahuah instructs Gideon to take the multitude of men down to the water to see who would be chosen to take the Midianites (v 3 -7) - the Same Night Yahuah instructed Gideon to arise and take the camp (v 9). This again demonstrates That Night is the Latter Half of the Daily Cycle.

      Judges 7:2-9
      02] And Iehouah (Jehovah / Yahuah) said to Gideon, Much people is with thee, and Midain shall not be committed into the hands thereof, lest Israel glory against me, and say, I am delivered by mine strengths. 03] Speak thou to the people, and preach thou, while all men hear, He that is fearful in heart, and dreadful outwardly, turn again. And they went away from the hill of Gilead, and two and twenty thousand of men turned again from the people; and only ten thousand dwelt. 04] AND IEHOUAH (JEHOVAH / YAHUAH) SAID TO GIDEON, YET THIS PEOPLE IS MUCH, LEAD THOU THEM TO THE LOUGHS (WATERS), AND THERE PROVE THEM, and he go, of whom I shall say, that he go; turn he again, whom I shall forbid to go. 05] And when the people had gone down to the loughs (waters), Iehouah (Jehovah / Yahuah) said to Gideon, Thou shall divide them by themselves, that lap lough (water) with hand and tongue, as dogs are accustomed to lap; soothly (truly) they, that drink with knees bowed, shall be in the other part (portion) 06] And so number of them, that lapped lough (water) by hand casting to the mouth, was three hundred men; forsooth (for truth) the other multitude drank kneeling. 07] And Iehouah (Jehovah / Yahuah) said to Gideon, In three hundred men, that lapped lough (water), I shall deliver ye, and I shall committ Midian in thy hand; but all other multitude turn again into their place. 08] And so when they had taken meats (food) and trumps for the number, he commanded all the other multitude to go to their tabernacles; and he, with three hundred men, gave himself to battle, Soothly (truly) the tents of Midians were beneath in the valley. 09] IN THE SAME NIGHT (*1) IEHOUAH (JEHOVAH / YAHUAH) SAID TO HIM (GIDEON), RISE THOU, AND GO DOWN INTO THE ENCAMPMENTS OF MIDIAN, FOR I HAVE COMMITTED THEM INTO THINE HAND;

      (*1) Middle English Thilke Nyytertale - The Ilk/Same Night. Equates with Strong's H # 1931 & H # 3915 - Hu-Hiy Layil - Night - The Self Same (Mid)Night season.

Here we have an account of Abimelech engaging Gaal the son of Ebed:

1 ) The people are ordered out to the field in the Night (v 32), and that they were to rise Early the Next Day, as the Sun is up (v 33) - again demontrating that Night is the Latter Half of the Previous Daily Cycle
2 ) Abimelech rose up all the people by Night (v 34), and the Next Day the people went out into the fields (v 42) - yet again demonstrating that Night is the Latter Half of the Daily Cycle.

      Judges 9:31-44
30] For when the wordis of Gaal, son of Ebed, were heard, Zebul, the prunce of the city, was full wroth; 31] and he sent privily sender-bidders (messengers) to Abimelech, and said, Look-see!, son of Ebed, came into Shechem, with his brethren, and he excites the city to fight against thee; 32] THEREFORE RISE THOU BY NIGHT (*1) WITH THE PEOPLE, which is with thee, and be thou hid in the field; 33] and FIRST ON THE MORN (*2), WHEN THE SUN RISES (*3), fall on the city; forsooth (for truth) when he goes out with his people against thee, do thou to him that, that thou may. 34] THEREFORE ABIMELECH ROSE WITH ALL HIS HOST (ARMY) BY NIGHT (*1), and stood in the entering of the gate of the city. Forsooth (for truth) Abimelech and all the host (army) with him rose from the place of ambushments. 35] And Gaal, the son of Ebed, went out, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city. Forsooth (for truth) Abimelech and all the host (army) with him rose from the place of ambushments. 36] And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, Look-see! a multitude comes down from the hills, To whom he answered, Thou see the shadows of hills as the heads of men, and thou are deceived by this error. 37] And after Gaal said, Look-see! a people comes down from the midst of earth, that is, from the highness of hills, and a company comes by the way that beholds (faces) the oak. 38] To whom Zebul said, Where is now thy mouth, by which thou speak, Who is Abimelech, that we serve him? Whether this is not the people, whom thou despise? Go thou out, and fight against him. 39] Therefore Gaal went, while the people of Shechem abode; and he fought against Abimelech. 40] Which followed Gaal feeing, and constrained to go into the city; and full many of his part (portion) fell down unto the gate of the city. 41] And Abimelech sat in Arumah; soothly (truly) Zebul put Gaal and his fellows out of the city, and suffered not to dwell therein. 42] THEREFORE IN THE DAY FOLLOWING (*4), THE PEOPLE WENT OUT INTO THE FIELD; and when this thing was told to Abimelech, 43] he took his host (army), and departed into three companies, and set ambusments in the fields; and he saw that the people went out of the city, and he rose, 44] and fell on them with his company, and impugned (attacked) and besieged the city. Soothly (truly) two companies went about opuenly by the field, and followed adversaries. 45] Certainly Abimelech fought against the city in all that day, which he took, when the dwellers were slain, and that city was destroyed, so that he sprinled abroad salt therein.

These next three chapters of Judges (19-21) are the account of the Levite whose concubine was used and abused unto death by Benjamites in Bethlehem, and the ultimate revenge that all the rest of Isarel inflicted upon the Benjamites for the murder of the Levite's concubine. The 19th chapter of Judges clearly deliniates the succession of the first three of seven consecutive Days, ending with the Sixth Day of the Week. Chapters 20 & 21 chronicle the remaining four of the Seven consecutive Days. This can be deduced from the fact that the traveller was a Levite heading to Jerusalem to go to the house of Yahuah. Counting backward from 20:1,2 it can be extrapolated that the Levite had begun his journey to Bethleham on the 1st Day of the Week; this would also be consistent with not embarking on a journey on the 7th Day Sabbath.

      Judges 19:1-30
01] A MAN (LEVITE) WAS A DEACON DWELLING IN THE SIDE OF THE HILL OF EPHRAIM, WHICH DEACON TOOK A SECONDARY FEME (SECONDARY WOMAN/WIFE - CONCUBINE) of Bethlehem of Yahudah (Judah). 02] AND SHE LEFT HIM, AND RETURNED AGAIN TO THE HOUSE OF HER FATHER IN BETHLEHEM, and she dwelt at him four months. 03] AND HE HOUSEBOND (HUSBAND) FOLLOWED HER, AND RECONCILED TO HER, and speak fair, and lead her again with him; and he had in company a child, and twin asses. And she receieved him, and brought him into the house of her father; and when his femes (women/wives) had heard this, and saw him, he ran gladly to him, and kissed the man. 04] AND THE HOUSEBOND (HUSBAND) OF THE DAUGHTER DWELT IN THE HOUSE OF HIS SECONDARY FEME'S (SECONDARY WOMAN'S/WIFE'S - CONCUBINE'S) FATHER IN THREE DAYS, and ate and drank homely (familiarly) with him. 05] Soothly (truly) IN THE FOURTH DAY HE ROSE A-DAY (*1) (4th WEEK DAY - counting backward from 20:1,1), and would go forth; whom the father of his feme (woman/wife) held, and said to him, Taste thou first a little of bread, and comfort thy stomach, and so thou shall go forth. 06] And they sat together, and ate, and drank. And the father of the damsel said to the houebond (husband) of his daughter, I BESEECH THEE, THAT THOU DWELL (*2) HERE TO-DAY (*3) (4th WEEK DAY), and that we be glad together. 07 And he rose, and began to desire to go; and nay-the-less the father of his feme (woman/wife) held him meekly, AND MADE HIM DWELL AT HIM (*4). 08] Forsooth (for truth) WHEN THE MORN (5th WEEK DAY) WAS MADE (*5), THE DEACON MADE READY WAY; to whom the father of his feme (woman/wife) said after, I BESEECH, THAT THOU TAKE A LITTLE MEAT (FOOD), AND MAKE THEE STRONG UNTIL THE AFTERNOON (*6), and after go forth. Therefore the ate together. 09] And the young man rose to go with his feme (woman/wife) and child; to whom the father of his feme (woman/wife) spake after, BEHOLD THOU, THAT THE (5th WEEK)DAY IS LOWER TO THE GOING DOWN (*7), AND NIGHS TO EVEN (*8); DWELL THOU AT ME ALSO TO-DAY (*2), and lead a glad day, AND TO-MORROW (the 6th WEEK DAY) (*9) THOU SHALL GO FORTH, that thou go into thine house. 10] The housebond (husband) of the daughter would not assent to his words; BUT (THE DEACON) WENT FORTH AT ONCE (ON THE 5th WEEK DAY), and came to Jebus, which by another name is cleped (called) Jerusalem; and he led with him two asses charged (loaded/burdened), and the feme (woman/wife). 11] And now they were beside Jebus, AND THE DAY CHANGED INTO NIGHT (of the 5th WEEK DAY) (*10). And the child said to his master, Come thou, I beseech, bow we to the city of Jebus, and dwell we therein. 12] To whom the master answered, I shall not enter into the city of an alien folk, which is not of the sons of Israel, but I shall pass unto Gibeah; 13] and when I shall come th

      Message 156 of 156 , May 20, 2009

        Shalom Bro. Paul,

I really was not interested in reply to this thread.  But, when I was deleting my emails, I read your words again.  I read Mark 1:35 from the Aramaic Peshitta.  It is a lot clearer.  Before I go into it, I will quote the verse from the Murdock translation of the Peshitta and the KJV.

Mark 1:35 (KJV) And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Mark 1:35 (Murdock from the Peshitta) And in the morning, he rose much before others, and retired to a solitary place, and there prayed.

That verse has been horribly translated in the Christian bibles.  In the KJV, where they have morning, the word ennookhon is there.  That means in the night as you correctly noted.  Then, later, we see the word, proi.  So, the verse, in Greek, says that he rose up in the night before the morning just before the sun rose.  Many call this time—dawn twilight—which is dawn/shachar in Hebrew.  The root of the word shachar is to be early, diligent.  This means early as in, I arrived early for my job interview.  By intimation, the sunlight arrives early in the dawn before the sun actually is present.

In the Aramaic text, the word that they translate as proi is tzapra.   In the Aramaic Targums, we see this same word in Psalms 90:6 as boqer.  Boqer is when the sun is visible.  But, proi means the 4th watch of the night—literally—dawn.  Just check the Strong's concordance.

This is the literal translation from the Aramaic Peshitta.

Mark 1:35 (Yehochanan from the Peshitta)  And in the morning, he rose early and retired to a solitary place, and there prayed.

The Peshitta and the Greek are not the same but convey the same message.  The Greek text took to liberty of adding few words to make it clear.  The translation you gave does a good job of translation the Greek—word-for-word.

Mark 1:35 (2008 Jewish Orthodox Bible)  And very early, while it was still dark, having got up, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach went out and away to a desolate place, and was davening shacharis there.

Both, Ennuchon (in the dark) and proi (morning) are in the verse.  It seems that no one translates both words.  Also, many translations add the word, day, when it is not in the Greek or Aramaic text. It should say that he rose up very early while it was still dark just before the morning…

I think your argument was that morning (boqer) cannot be dark.  I agree.  Dawn/Shachar is the time that the light of the sun begins illumination the earth and before the sun appears over the horizon.  When the sun appears over the horizon, it is boqer, the beginning of the day season.

Many people believe that between the evenings is dawn and dusk twilight since erev means mixture—by implication—the time when light and dark are mixed.  It is not day because the sun is not visible but it is not night since dark does not dominate.  It is a mixed phase.  It has aspects of both the day and the night.

I will not get into the between the evenings debate.  I rely on the Jewish sages and they all say that this is the afternoon when the sun is declining up until it is night/dark.  Everyone who says differently arrived at there conclusion via private interpretation.  And that is not a serious issue anyway since we do not do animal sacrifices and there is no instance (that I am aware of) where a person would violate Torah with the smaller timeframe for between the evenings.

        Shalom,

        Yehochanan

In his definition of Morning as H # 1242 Strong says that it should properly be rendered as Boqer - Dawn; Morrow. He is telling us that the word Morning is being misused. You find no such explanation when he defines G # 1773 Ennuchon.

If you consider that and combine it with Mk.1:35, the conclusion is that #4404 occurred BEFORE day, yet on the first of the week. That means the first of the week started BEFORE day. That means the night before that day was the first of the week.
