Looks a reasonable re-introduction/recap of the character but it all depends on how it goes storywise from now on for me as that , rather than the art , is the most important for me. I will say that the art does look better than what he does on X-Men.

Seems a good ldea to start like it has and covering different periods I presume as it goes along. Be interesting to see how they decide to handle it after this 12 issue arc.

Story was okay so far, but too soon to tell for sure. I can certainly say that the best thing in the issue was John's prose saga at the end, three pages that will run for a year. The rest of the comic was just red blood and gore all the way. It seemed like a continuation of the Dark Horse style. Except for the first two pages, which are a collage of old Marvel scenes.

Great capture if you got the Hildebrandt cover.  It is the 1:500 variant and was  going for $450 - $500 on eBay.  

Trying to do some research online but I still can't figure out the artist in the one I picked. However, I don't think it is that Hildebrandt. I can see another one than mine that looks a lot more like Greg and is signed.

That is just a sad statement on their literacy. The same reason they neglect referring to Howard in their analysis. Ultimately, comic book geeks are no more literate these days than movie reviewers.

Yes , new to me too. I used to request a particular cover when there
was more than one and hoped I'd get it. Apologies to any who do but I
can't understand folks who by as many as they can get as it's what's
inside story wise that counts and especially with the cost of
individual issues these days.

One things for sure- I better get the right cover on the Conan Omnibus next week!  I ordered the one with Barry's Conan #1, the obvious appropriate choice.

This is not true because both covers are available to comic shops.
The Direct Market cover is supposedly ONLY available to comic shops.
