allbookstores list several places that might have it in the US but most seem
      to be out of print.

This women is in the UK but she seems to be a specialist and might offer
some help even if she doesn't have the book.
      http://www.1940.co.uk/shop/books/books.htm

This is an ezine run by Streamline Press who publish the book

From this article I gather that your author actually owns the publishing
company, if that is any help

And this women made an interesting and helpful comment
Sally Wright says: "There's a book entitled Authentic 1940s Hairstyles:
Tips and Tricks For Creating Authentic 1940s Hairstyles by Daniela Turudich,
published by Streamline Press (1999) ISBN: 1-9300064-00-4. I purchased
this book over the internet (can't remember where though). It was priced
at $20 and it was worth every penny. www.amazon.com have it listed as out
of print but you could try e-mailing the author: turudich@...

      Hope this helps

This email is part incredulous bitch, part 'where to look for...'

I'm costuming a production of "It's a Wonderful Life". With the budget
constraints I have, I'm depending on the ladies hairstyle to really
help set and reinforce the period, especially as I have to fudge some
of the actual garments that'll be worn. One of my students is a hair
stylist who has agreed do hair. I interlibrary loaned a copy of Daniela
Turudich's book "1940's Hairstyles" and it's turned out to be a great
resource. So I decided to see if I could find a copy of it for my own
library. The book was published in 2001 by Streamline Press, and
appears to be out-of-print. I'm not finding many used copies out there,
but what I have found starts at $125.00!!! For a book that originally
      sold for $15.95!!!

Does anyone have an op or hard to find book source they can recommend?
