RE: [TheCostumersManifesto] Fake pregnant belly
- Doll pellets are great for filling because they do not sprout in
moisture like beans and birdseed. You can't always guarantee that
storage remains dry. Rice, uncooked not the minute variety, can also be
a good nonsprouting filler.

Subject: [TheCostumersManifesto] Fake pregnant belly
A friend asked me to make an unusual "costume" for her baby shower.
She wants a belly with the wieght and girth of a real pregnant belly
for her husband and his friends to use. It doesn't have to look real
but it needs to be restrictive enough to give a hint at what it's like
to be pregnant. The idea will be a game where the guys have to put it
on and pick up cotton balls off the floor. I can make the piece, but
I don't know what to fill it with to make it heavy enough but still
wearable. The "filling" won't need to be washed, I'll take it apart
if it needs to be cleaned. I'll keep it for any future baby shower
but I don't expect it to get too dirty. Any suggestions?
