- Waco Tribune-Herald, Tuesday Oct. 16, 2001Robert L. "Larry" Vickery, 54, passed from this life Saturday, October 13, 2001 at a local hospital following a battle with cancer. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 16 at Oakcrest Funeral home Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Dornak officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco.Larry was born November 26, 1946 in Waco to Robert |D. and Gustine Vickery. He attended Waco area schools, receiving his BBA from Baylor University in August 1970 and passed the CPA examination in January 1971. He worked briefly for Arthur Anderson & Co. before returning to Waco to practice accounting. Larry was an avid tennis player and recently attended the U.S. Open in NY. He had a real zest for life and was generous to all.Larry is survived by his parents, Robert D. and Gustine Vickery of Waco; fiancee Christine Zirkel; brother Ronald W. Vickery and wife Marla and family of Tuscon, Arizona;daughters, Tiffany Orsak and husband Dan, Laura Gough and husband Eric and Eden Vickery; son, John Michael Vickery; and grandchildren, Samuel O. Orsak and Stevie Rachel Orsak. He is also survived by close friends Rebecca Musil and Courtney McAnalley.Larry was a fine son, brother, father grandfather and friend.
