      Maggie (Twardowski) Bilski, 85, the widow of Billie
      Bilski Sr., of
      Sealy and a former resident of Brenham, died Friday,
      Aug. 31, 2001
      in a Houston hospital.
      Maggie was born near Brenham in Washington County,
      Texas on
      Feb. 12, 1916, the daughter of Chester and Mary
      Twardowski. She was baptized, confirmed and received
      her first
      Holy Communion in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
      Brenham, where
      she also attended the parish school.
      On Nov. 17, 1937, she and Billie Bilski were married
      in St. Mary’s.
      Mrs. Bilski devoted her life to helping her husband on
      the farm and
      to being a mother to their children.
      Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law Billie
      Jr. and Betty
      Bilski, Paul and Josie Bilski, Otto and Nancy Bilski,
      Joseph and
      Carolyn Bilski and Daniel Bilski; her daughters and
      Barbara and Al Janda and Anita and John Swoboda.
      Also surviving are her brother, Max Twardowski and her
      Mary Matthew Twardowski and Martha Kubeczka; her
      Barbara Twardowski and Agnes Twardowski.
      She is further survived by a son-in-law, Larry
      Okonski; and a
      daughter-in-law, Theresa Bilski; 22 grandchildren and
      their spouses
      who survive her: Dwayne and Lisa Bilski, Michelle and
      Ben Klotz,
      Sheila and Russell Mundy, Craig Swoboda, Kristi and
      Harris, Jeffrey Bilski, Alaina Bilski, Michael Bilski,
      Lisa and Ryan
      Swoboda, Keith Bilski, Calvin Bilski, Carol and Troy
      Seeker, Cindy
      and Ray Coufal, Jason Janda, Kimberly and Keith Riebe,
      Dana and
      John Valentino, Daryl Okonski, DeLynn and Donnie
      Martinez, Kellie
      and Anthony Geraci, Alison Bilski, Jennifer Bilski and
      Patrick and
      Robyn Bilski; as do 14 great-grandchildren.
      Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Bilski was
      preceded in
      death by her daughter, Valeria Okonski; as well as two
      Andrew Bilski and Peter Bilski, and a daughter-in-law,
      Lillian Bilski;
      brothers Joe Twardowski, Willie Twardowski and Pete
      a sister, Pelagia Twardowski Bilski; and her
      brothers-in-law, Albin
      Kubeczka and Stanley Bilski.
      A wake service and rosary led by Msgr. Benedict
      Zientek will be
      prayed in Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St.,
      Texas, Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001 at 7 p.m.
      The funeral Mass will be offered in St. Mary’s
      Catholic Church, 701
      Church St. in Brenham, Texas Monday, Sept. 3, 2001 at
      10 a.m.
      Concelebrants will be Fr. Kevin Manion, Msgr. Boli
      Zientek, Msgr.
      Benedict Zientek, Msgr. Ben Mazurkiewicz and Msgr.
      Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Bilski, Craig
      Dwayne Bilski, Jason Janda, Michael Bilski, Daryl
      Okonski, Jeffrey
      Bilski and Calvin Bilski. Burial will follow in
      Calvary Catholic
      The family suggests that memorial contributions be
      made either to
      St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, Texas, or to
      the Austin
      County Emergency Medical Services.
      Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of
      Memorial Oaks
      Chapel; Brenham, Texas (979) 836-4564.
