Memorial services were held last Saturday morning, April 3rd, at 10:00 o’clock for Lt. Raymond S. Krenek, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Krenek of Markham, Texas.

Lt. Krenek was serving with the 51st Fighter interceptor group in Korea when he failed to return from a flight and is believed to have lost his life on the Yellow Sea.  He has been missing from action since April 7, 1953, and was officially proclaimed dead on May 12, 1953.

The Rev. Vaclav Bily officiated at Requiem High Mass at St. Peter's ’Catholic Church in Blessing.  Following the Mass, military services were conducted by Chaplain Dunigan and a special detachment from Foster Air Force Base in Victoria.

Among the many relatives and friends attending services were Mrs. Fred G. Frnka, aunt of the deceased flyer and Miss Shirley Frnka of Eagle Lake.

Eagle Lake Headlight, Thursday, April 8, 1954
