Georgia (Bohac) Malak, age 89 of Brenham, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 in Scott & White Hospital in Brenham. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 8 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Ernesto Elizondo as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Aaron Wensel, Freddie Hrnicko, Jr., Greg Henson, Tony Barrios, Eddie Hernandez and Hieth Ives.

Georgia was born January 1, 1924 in Wallis, Texas in Austin County, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bohac. She was a Wallis High School graduate and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham. She was married to Stephen L. Malak who preceded her in death along with her parents, daughter Carolyn Girouard, grandson Lance Wensel, a brother and three sisters.

Georgia was fortunate and truly enjoyed having been able to travel across the United States as well as Europe with her husband, children, sisters and friends. She set the example for all regarding community stewardship; she participated as a member of the Ladies Society of St. Mary’s in both Sealy and Brenham, and assisted with the numerous efforts of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Winning First place in the community Christmas Decorating and Baking contest are just a couple of her victories. She always had her dogs at her side, her constant companions throughout her life. Even though at times she worked outside the home, her love for family and for God was always apparent, she lived with both in her heart daily, and we will always recall her as “the World’s Greatest Mom.”

Survivors include daughter Marilyn & husband Edward Wensel; sons, Gary Hrnicko, Freddie & wife Brenda Hrnicko; grandchildren Aaron & Kristie Wensel, Chasity & Greg Henson, Tonya & Tony Barrios, , Freddie Jr. & Mary Hrnicko; great-grandchildren Colten & Carson Wensel, Ella & Orion Barrios, Savanah Maly, and numerous nieces & nephews.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Hospice Brazos Valley.

Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer St., Brenham. 979.836.3611, visit www.brenhammemorialchapel.com to leave condolences
