Rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. tomorrow at Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel for Steve Havel, 78, of 2601 Niagara. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. L. Cannon as celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Park Cemetery.
Havel, an employe of a local pest control firm, died apparently of a heart attack yesterday while working under a house on Rita street. Justice of the Peace Peter Dunne has not given an official verdict on the cause of death.
Havel was a farmer in Wilson County until 1927 when he moved to Corpus Christi. He operated a farm and was associated with a cotton gin before working for several pest control companies here.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; three sons, Ed W. Havel of Ingleside, Jack Havel of Lake Jackson and Benny Havel of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Mrs. Gordon Moffatt of Corpus Christi; two brothers, John Havel of Campbellton and Jim Havel of Woodsboro; three sisters, Miss Irene Havel of Campbellton, Mrs. Antonio De Kunder of Fort Worth and Mrs. Annie Kosarek of Poth; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
