      Marie Bohac, age 91 of Temple, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 in a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 18th, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Ranjan Cletus as celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM.

      Mrs. Bohac was born July 20, 1922 in Corn Hill to Joseph and Filomena Krejci Steffek. She was reared and educated in Granger. She married D. I. Bohac on October 8, 1941. He preceded her in death November 30, 2001. D.I was the great grandson of Johann and Johanna (Janak) Neusser. He was also well known around Central Texas for his band Happy Dan and the Melody Boys.

       She retired from Taylor Bedding Company in 1986. They then moved from Bartlett to Temple that same year. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, SPJST and KJZT. She was best known for her kolaches. She had a “green thumb” and could grow just about anything.

      She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Lori Crotty and husband, Mike of Temple, two grandchildren, Sarah Crotty of Dallas and Jacob Crotty of College Station, three sisters, Sophie Kubicek and Emilie Vrana both of Taylor, Edith Werchan of Austin and numerous nieces and nephews.

      Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.
