Richard John Milberger Sr., 80, of 1506 N. DeLeon died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in a local hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Milberger was born Jan. 9, 1893 in Hallettsville, and had been a resident of Victoria County since 1910. A retired farmer, he was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and SPJST Lodge Primori No. 143.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The body will lie in state at the church Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Inez with McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Agnes Milberger of Victoria; four daughters, Mrs. Norma Cox of Houston, Mrs. Gracie David of Lafayette, La., Mrs. Edith Wagner of Austin and Mrs. Elizabeth Hoffman of Victoria; five sons, James Milberger of Louisville, Ky., Richard Milberger Jr., of Austin, Charlie Milberger, Herbert Milberger, Herbert Milberger and Clarence Milberger, all of Victoria; a sister, Mrs. Mary Tylich of Guadalupe; 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
