Bertha Lanell "Tiger" Coppock, 82, peacefully joined the love of her life in heaven, here in Austin, on Sunday, July 28, 2013. She was born in Smithville, Texas on June 26, 1931 to Charles and Bertha Kalina.

She met the love of her life James and was married on September 22, 1956 at St. Austin's Catholic Church. She was a supervisor at the Texas Highway Department for 37 years before retiring. She enjoyed all sports, especially golf. She spent many hours on the golf course, winning minor tournaments. She spent many seasons watching the UT Men's Basketball team from their season seats. She also enjoyed going to Nevada and Mississippi for the occasional gambling trip. Lady luck was usually on her side.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years James, her parents and two brothers, Raymond and Charles.

Bertha is survived by her sisters, Margaret Stryk, Elaine Olsovsky and Della Thompson, numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses in the IMC unit at Seton Medical Center, who showed us such love and care over the past few days.

In lieu of flower the family request donations to be made in her name to the charity of your choice.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening, on Thursday, the 1st of August 2013, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at seven o'clock that evening.

A private service will be held on Friday, the 2nd of August 2013.
