      SANTA FE – Mrs. BB Ann (Baranowski) Marek passed from this life Saturday morning, September 14, 2013, just 3 days shy of her 77th birthday, at her home surrounded by her family.

       

      Born September 17, 1936 in Brenham, Texas, BB Ann, affectionately known to most as BB, was a 1955 graduate of Wallis High School and had made Santa Fe her home since 1963, previously of Texas City.  She was the co-owner and operator of Santa Fe Water Services and a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she had been active in the Altar Society as well as a teacher’s aide at the church school.  She was a member of the Santa Fe Home Extension Club and enjoyed collecting angels, reading all kinds of books and crocheting.

       

      Preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Ann Marek and son, Edward Leo Marek, Jr., survivors include her loving husband of over 58 years, Ed Marek; children, Patsy Beall, Cynthia Sterling and her husband, Robbie, Leo Marek, Lorri Clendenin and her husband, Tommie; sister, Agnes Konvicka; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

       

      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Reverend John Kappe, Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

       

      Pallbearers will be Karee Carter, Tim “Junior” McKenzie, Raymond McKenzie, George McKenzie, Christopher Beall and Steven Beall.  Honorary bearers will be Rachelle Gray, Roberta Yingling and Anthony Macaluso.

       

      Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with a Vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Alvin Lovelady, followed by the Rosary by Mr. Don LeCompte.

       

      Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to Santa Fe Fire And Rescue, 13112 Highway 6, Santa Fe, Texas 77510.
