Jeanette Buxkemper Kalina, age 49, of Wharton, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at a local hospital. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday at the Wharton Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jeanette Buxkemper Kalina was born on Nov. 13, 1963 in Wharton to Frank and Gloria Skobla Buxkemper. Jeanette was a secretary for the Boling Independent School District for many years. She was married to Jeff Kalina of Wharton on Oct. 27, 1984.
Jeanette was a member of many organizations. She was a member of the 4-H Club as leader, Girl and Boy Scout Leader, Little League member and coach, Boling Fair Fund Secretary and supporter, member of the Coastal Plains Cowboy Church and Wednesday night Bible study and Boling ISD Piems Transportation Coordinator. Her hobbies were watching football, baking, enjoying her children and grandson, counted cross stitch, photography, reading the Bible and doing crosswords out of the newspaper.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Jeff Kalina; daughter, Ashton Kalina of Boling; son, Jeffrey Kalina of Corpus Christi; grandson, Jace Tobin; her parents, Frank and Gloria Buxkemper; brother, Donald Buxkemper of East Barnard; and also numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
