Alice Marie Macek Langdon, 85, of Alvin, Texas, beloved sister and aunt, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 27, 2013.

She was born September 28, 1927 in Damon, Texas to Joseph Macek and Francis Mazac Macek. The Maceks moved to Iowa Colony, Texas in 1930 where she lived on their farm for 15 years and went to Iowa Colony School. She attended Reagan High School in Houston, Texas while living with her Aunt Theresa. She met her beloved husband, Acie, at Parks Cafe in Alvin, Texas in 1945. They were married for 43 very happy years.

Alice and her husband owned and operated the Ivory Green Café in New Braunfels, Texas. They also owned and operated Houston Scale Company in Houston and they retired from their business in the late 1980s. She worked as a nurse for several doctors and also as an eye tech for an optometrist. During her younger years, she was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.  After retirement she worked part time at Alvin High School in the cafeteria and in the administration office. In her later years, she volunteered at Alvin Community Hospital and was a member of Alvin Senior Friends. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manvel. Alice loved her yard and worked hard to make it beautiful. She also enjoyed playing golf with her husband and friends. Alice loved her family and was most happy spending time with them. Her sweet smile and kind heart will be deeply missed by anyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Francis Macek; her husband, Acie Langdon; her sister, Patricia Rawlings.

Alice is survived by her sisters, Millie Dabbs and Judie Divin; brother, Raymond Macek; and many relatives and cherished friends.
