obit: Nobeno "Beno" Henry Frnka
EL CAMPO – Beno H. Frnka, 64, owner of Frnka’s Grocery here, died Sunday at his residence following a short illness.
Born Sept. 26, 1913, in Garwood, Mr. Frnka had been a resident of El Campo for the past 48 years.
He was a member of Saint Phillip’s Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge, the American Legion and the Texas Retail Grocers’ Association.
He also was a veteran of World War II.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel of the Wheeler Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. James C. Brunner and Monsignor Julius Petru officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, when it will be taken to the church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Frnka of Victoria; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Martin of Magnolia Beach; two brothers, Victor Frnka of El Campo and Eugene Frnka of Magnolia Beach; and three grandchildren.
