obit: Mrs. Joe A. Janak nee Cervenka
HALLETTSVILLE – Mrs. Joe A. Janak, 96, of Hallettsville, died at 9 a.m. Sunday at a local medical center.
She was born Feb. 17, 1883 in Lavaca County. She was married to Joe A. Janak Oct. 17, 1905 at Sweet Home. Her husband died July 30, 1970.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and KJZT Lodge.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Kubena Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry Psencik officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The body will be taken from the funeral home to the church at 8:45 a.m.
Survivors include two sons, James A. Janak of Weimar and Willie S. Janak of LaSalle; two daughters, Mrs. Lambert Janak and Mrs. Raymond Greer, both of Hallettsville; a brother, Willie Cervenka, and a sister, Mrs. John Matusek, both of Sweet Home; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
