obit: Martha Fajkus
HALLETTSVILLE – Mrs. Martha Fajkus, 83, of Hallettsville, died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday in a Shiner hospital.
Mrs. Fajkus was born Jan. 16, 1895, in Lavaca County, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the KJZT.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Reg. Celestino Say officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alphonse Spanihel, Eugene Kaehl, Alphonse Klekar, Herbert Henneie, Jerry Fajkus and Marcus Neuvar.
The body will lie in state at Kubena Funeral Home until 9 a.m. at which time it will be taken to the church where a rosary by the society will be recited at 9:30 a.m. A rosary was recited Thursday night by the parish at the funeral home chapel.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William E. Hruska of Houston, and five sisters, Mrs. Henry Spanihel and Mrs. Bettie Neuvar of Hallettsville, Mrs. Teresa Srubar of Shiner, Mrs. Agnes King of Victoria and Mrs. Annie Fajkus of El Campo.
