      EL CAMPO – Ludvik J. Bartek, 63, of El Campo, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday in a Houston hospital after a long illness.

       

      Born in La Grange on Aug. 13, 1916, he was a longtime resident of the El Campo community.  Mr. Bartek was a veteran of World War II.

       

      Rosaries were recited Wednesday night by KJT society and by the parish of St. Philip’s Catholic Church.  The body will lie in state at Triska Funeral Home Chapel until 1 p.m. Thursday when it will be taken to St. Philip’s Catholic Church for 2 p.m. funeral services.  Burial with military honors will be in Taiton Catholic Cemetery.

       

      He is survived by his wife, Julia Bartek of El Campo; four daughters, Rita Krepec, Mary Kay Socha and Theresa Harton, all of El Campo, and Judy Venglar of Wharton; three sons, Tommy, Ricky and L. J. Bartek Jr., all of El Campo; two brothers, Alvin Bartek of La Grange and Jerry Bartek of Refugio; and 20 grandchildren.
