      YOAKUM, Feb. 20 – Funeral services for George Koliba, 79, of the Hochheim community, were held at Buffington Chapel and St. Ann’s Catholic Church Tuesday.  Rev. Edward J. Jansky officiated and interment was in St. Ann’s Cemetery.  Kubena Funeral Home of Hallettsville directed services.

       

      Koliba was born in Czechoslovakia, came to America in 1890 and settled in Lavaca County.  He died at Huth Memorial Hospital here Saturday after several months illness.

       

      He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Koliba of Hochheim; four sons, Jim and Bill of Victoria, Joe of Port Lavaca and Otto of Hochheim; five daughters, Mrs. Albert Krupala of Shiner, Mrs. Ben Benys and Mrs. Josephine Janota of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Julia Pizzitola of La Porte and Mrs. G. A. (Albina) Powers of Baytown; a brother, Ludvik Koliba of Corpus Christi;  34 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
