      Celebration services for Fred L. Juren, Jr., 77, of Zavalla, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 in the Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Zavalla with Brother Joel Hitchcock officiating.

       

      Mr. Juren was born June 4, 1934 in Grosse Point Farms, Michigan to the late Irene Mae (Swift) and Fred L. Juren, Sr. and died November 28, 2011 in Lufkin. He was a supervisor with Anheuser-Busch and was an all-around mechanical handy-man. Mr. Juren served in the U.S. Army's special forces unit and loved motorcycles, hunting, fishing, boxing, and going fast. Most of all, he loved his best friend, Cricket (his Boston Terrier) and he was a member of the Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church.

       

      Survivors include his wife, Betty Juren of Zavalla; son, Gary Browning of Etoile; daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and George Kelley of Huntington, Tracy and Brian Berry, and Julie and Gerald Davis; daughter, Cathy Musick, all of Hudson; 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; special friends, Tommy and Jennie Delozier of Zavalla; and numerous other special friends.

       

      The family wants to especially thank the Hospice in the Pines-Inpatient Unit staff for all their help.

       

      Honorary pallbearers will be James Hillyer, Sam Williams, Ricky Page and Molee Jones. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 10 a.m. until service time in the Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Avenue; Lufkin, TX 75904. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Snead Linton Funeral Home.
