obit: Fred Chalupa
TAYLOR, Tex., March 29.—Last rites were performed Tuesday afternoon for Fred Chalupa, 43, who died as the result of self inflicted wounds with a rifle and razor Monday afternoon. The services were conducted at the Tucker and Sloan Funeral Chapel and interment was made in the City Cemetery.
Chalupa, who lived near Taylor on a farm had been working in the field with two of his younger sons and left them in the field so he could get an ax from the house. A small daughter heard the shot as he went into an upstairs room and reported him coming down the stairs and into a room there as his wife entered the house and slashed his throat as she entered. Judge J. F. Black of Taylor issued a verdict of suicide.
