      WELL KNOWN YOAKUM RESIDENT SUCCUMBS

       

      Yoakum, Texas, Jan. 29.—Emil Pesek, 50, well-known resident of Yoakum, died suddenly at Weimar Thursday afternoon.  Mr. Pesek had attended to business in Yoakum Thursday morning morning and went to Weimar in the afternoon.  He was born in Lavaca county, near Praha, and moved to Yoakum 26 years ago.  After working in the National Bank a number of years, he went into the insurance business.  He was active in politics having managed the campaign of Congressman Mansfield several times.

       

      Brief services will be held at the home Sunday morning, after which requiem high mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

       

      Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Annie Benys Pesek, one daughter, Anita, one son, Leon; four brothers, Frank of Schulenburg, Adolph of Moulton, John of Taylor, William of Hallettsville; six sisters, Mrs. John Muska of Yoakum, Mrs. Anton Wagner of Moulton and Misses Mary, Annie, Albineo [as printed] and Agnes Pesek of Moulton. – Houston Chronicle Special.
