      YOAKUM – Alfonce Pavlica, 64, of 301 Goldman St. in Yoakum died suddenly at his residence at 9:30 a.m. Monday.

       

      He was born June 21, 1915 in Shiner and was a retired manager at the Yoakum Cannery.

       

      A rosary will be recited 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Yoakum.

       

      Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Bishop Hugo Gerbermann officiating.

       

      Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

       

      Among those surviving are his wife, Trudie Pavlica; a son, Andrew Pavlica both of Yoakum; four sisters, Mrs. Christine Emery of Mercedes, Mrs. Frances Matland and Mrs. Margaret McMillan, both of Brenham and Mrs. Blanche Taylor of San Antonio;  a brother, Johnny Pavlica of McAllen; and two grandchildren. 

       

      Pallbearers will be John, Dennis and Terry O’Neill, Ronnie Biehunko and Allen and John Munson.
