obit: Albert E. "Walter" Kana
EL CAMPO – Albert E. (Walter) Kana, 68, of El Campo, was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital Monday after suffering an apparent heart attack at his residence.
A resident of El Campo of the past 43 years, he was a retired employee of Tranco. He was a native of Bastrop County.
A joint Knights of Columbus-KJT service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Triska Funeral Home, followed by a parish Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. The Body will be moved to St. Philip Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday with funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tim Kosler officiating. Burial will be in Garden Memorial of Holy Cross Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sophie Kana of El Campo; a son, Dennis Kana of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Marcella Kaiser of El Campo and Mrs. Alice Guffey of Wharton; and three brothers, Louis, Adolph and Beno Kana, all of El Campo.
