      Funeral services were held at Untermeyer Funeral home Friday for William Frank Zajicek, 87, who died in his sleep at his home early Wednesday after a short illness.  Continued services were held in St. Anthony’s Catholic church, the Rev. Joseph Deane officiating.  Burial was in St. Anthony’s parish cemetery.  Rosary was recited in the funeral home Thursday evening.

       

      Born at Brelsburg, Mr. Zajicek’s birth date was Dec. 6, 1875.  He was a son of Tom and Anna Zajicek.

       

      His widow, the former Pauline Laake, whom he married in 1901, survives along with 2 sons, W. A. “Bill” Zajicek of Glidden and Paul Zajicek of Gladewater and 3 daughters, Mrs. Willie Noska of Eagle Lake, Mrs. Archie Baker of Houston and Mrs. Walter Meyer of Columbus.  Fourteen grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren survive.  A son, Adolph, died in 1959.  Surviving sisters are Mrs. Louise Schneider of El Campo and Mrs. Albina Martinka of Houston.

       

      Pallbearers were his grandsons, Willie Noska Jr., Glenn Hayes Zajicek, Thomas and David Zajicek, Richard Meyer and Conrad Bertsch.
