WILLIE J. MACHA
YOAKUM - Willie J. Macha, age 92, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013.
He was born on January 11, 1921 in DeWitt County to Joe and Annie Kalich Macha.
He retired in 1984 from the State Department of Highways & Public Transportation where he worked in the maintenance division. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2456 and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors: daughters, Linda Berkman and husband Glenn of Houston and Gail Smith and husband Doug of Austin; sons, Billy Macha and wife Tana of Victoria and Tommy Macha and wife Joan of Sweet Home; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a sister, Pauline Neslony of Corpus Christi.
Preceded in death by: parents; wife, Elrose Macha; son, Dennis Macha; sisters, Louise Hanus, Edna Hanus, Stella Trlica and Leona Sumbera.
Rosary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral mass at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Scott Berkman, Chad Berkman, Matthew Smith, Trey Smith, Blake Macha and Troy Macha.
