obit: John Joseph Zalesak
John Joseph Zalesak, 89 of Crosby, Texas passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 with his family by his side. John was born on February 26, 1922 in Frydek, Texas to Charles and Frances (Pavlicek) Zalesak.
John worked as a machinist by trade, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Crosby American Legion Post 658.
When he wasn’t busy working he enjoyed Polka Dancing, Gardening, raising cattle, hunting and most of all Spending time with his family and friends.
John was a very kind and caring man who never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and great granddaughter, Amanda Clanton.
John is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret Marie Mozisek Zalesak; Daughters & Son-in-laws, Marlene & Tom Clanton of Kenefick, Christene & Mike Jacobson of Crosby, Janet & Joe Dee Polka of Crosby, Carol & Randy Gardner of Crosby, Peggy & Dale Hulquist of Crosby; Sons & daughter-in-laws Dennis & Mary Kay Zalesak of Crosby, John & Melissa Zalesak of Liberty; Grandchildren Alicia Affeld & husband Otto, John William Clanton & wife Veronica, Michelle Clanton, Kim Minze & husband Gary, Michael Jacobson & wife Karen, An’na Schoch & husband Mike, Christopher Jacobson & wife Robin, Matthew Jacobson & wife Jennifer, Mark Jacobson, Jennifer Cope & husband Kyle, Alecia Gardner, Brandon Gardner, Blake Gardner, Chelsea Hulquist, Lindsey Hulquist, Daryll Zalesak, John-Erik Zalesak, Brody Zalesak; 11 Great Grandchildren, brother George Zalesak, sister Frances Cilny.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 5-8pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home with a rosary at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crosby with Monsignor Fred O’Connor officiating and burial following at Sterling-White Cemetery in Highlands, Texas.
