obit: Jessie Lee McDuffie Zvonek
Jessie Lee Zvonek passed away peacefully on June 8, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Selder and Vera McDuffie; her youngest daughter, Lucille Swanzy; and her grandsons Charles Calma, Jr., and David Bush.
Jessie is survived by her husband, Antone; daughters, Betty Marquis, Bobbie Wharton, and Vera Bush; grandchildren Cindy Bosché, Sharon Garcia, Cheryl Cowey, Anoush Sahebi, Adrianna Thrasher, and Alex McDuffie; and numerous great- and great -great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Jessie worked as a buyer at the original Carlton House for more than 30 years. Her greatest personal achievement is her legacy of being a loving, caring, generous, and giving person. She had a gracious smile, a quick wit, and always a twinkle in her eye. Jessie attended Glenbrook Valley United Methodist Church for more than 40 years, and she had a great love for the Lord.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 11, with funeral services in the Family Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12.
