Harrell Griesenbeck, 73, was taken from this life on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Dallas, Texas.

Harrell was born in Bastrop, Texas on September 26, 1939 to Henry and Roberta (Menefee) Griesenbeck. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School. On October 3, 1964 he married Pat Zabojnik and they made their home in Dallas and then in Ennis. Harrell served his country proudly in the United States Army Air National Guard. He started his career selling insurance for United Fidelity Insurance Company and later for Woodmen of the World. He was most widely known as an inventor. He was most proud of his accomplishment of inventing and patenting the children’s bed tent which is sold around the world. He loved to travel to new and unusual destinations such as China, Panama Canal and Europe. He loved to snow ski and many other outdoor hobbies. He recently enjoyed volunteering for the “off your rocker” reading program for elementary school children.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherri and her husband, Paul Barrett of Dallas; one grandchild, Anniston Barrett: one sister, Beverly Worthington of Waxahachie and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pat Griesenbeck, and his brothers, Larry Griesenbeck and Jerry Griesenceck. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 1 p.m. until service time. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of your choice in Harrell’s name. www.jekeevermortuary.com
