      Dorothy M. Budjick

      Corpus Christi , TX

Dorothy Marie Budjick, 89, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Corpus Christi after a three-year illness. During this time, she resided at Garden Estates of Corpus Christi and was taken care of primarily by beloved friends and gracious caregivers, Lilly Halsey and Lorie Blackstone.

Dorothy was born February 12, 1924, in Victoria, Texas, to Alvina Hagedorn and Charles F. Malitz. After marrying M/Sgt William (Bill) Budjick on Nov. 25, 1943 in Victoria, they moved to Corpus Christi, where they were employed at N.A.S. Dorothy worked in the Accounting Dept. for six years. Dorothy and Bill loved Corpus Christi, their church, neighbors and friends, yet still maintained very close ties to their loved ones in Victoria. Dorothy was a very caring and involved person. In addition to taking care of a husband and raising two children, she helped many personal friends and loved ones along the way. A long-time member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, which she loved deeply, Dorothy belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society, as well as Autumn Leaves. She was also a 30-year volunteer at the Spohn Hospital Shoreline information desk.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her sisters, Lois Louise and Charlene Lynch; and brothers, Charles F. Malitz, Jr. and Louis J. Malitz.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna McCamy of Athens, Texas; son, David Budjick of Corpus Christi; and six grandchildren, Bonnie McCamy of Arlington, Texas, Benjamin Budjick, Kimberly Budjick, Pamela Budjick, and Kyle Budjick of Corpus Christi, and Bradley (Iris) Budjick of Concrete, Washington.; beloved nieces Carol (Billy) Pope and Jean (Bruce) McConathy of Victoria; and nephew James M. 'Jimmy' Malitz of Houston.

Visitation will be held 5:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with Entombment to be followed at Seaside Memorial Park.
