obit: Hubert Milam Pospichal
Hubert Milam Pospichal, 90, formerly of Rowena, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
He was born May 7, 1922, in Rowena, Texas to Edward and Francis (Fujtik) Pospichal. During World War II, he served his country in the Army Air Force. He was a Sergeant with the 348th Army Air Forces Base Unit, which participated in campaigns in China and India-Burma. After being honorably discharged from military service, he went to work at Dow Chemical, in Freeport, Texas where he worked in a variety of positions for 31 years. His final responsibility was a Control A Operator. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the SPJST. In January of 2011, Hubert moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to be close to family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Felix, Robert, and Arnold Pospichal.
Hubert is survived by two nieces and a nephew, Janet Nichols and husband, Mike, of Scottsdale, Arizona; Cindy Wilks and husband, Ray, of Flower Mound, Texas; Tom Pospichal and wife, Janice, of Ft. Worth, Texas. Also surviving are great-nieces, Carri Bennett, Christi Woods, Mindy Pospichal; and great-nephews, Ryan Wilks, Scott Wilks, and Todd Wilks. Several great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
There will be a time of visitation from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Saturday, April 27 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm at Rowena Evergreen Cemetery.
