obit: Hazel Savage Banowsky
Hazel Banowsky of Pearland, Texas passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at her home.
She was born in Houston, Texas, September 21, 1932 to Paul and Edith Savage. She grew up in Houston and met the love of her life, Jack, on a blind date and they were married shortly after he graduated from Texas A&M in 1952. They resided in Pasadena, Texas where they raised three children and were active members of Shaw Street and then Burke Road Church. They later moved to Country Place where they enjoyed spending time with friends and family. They loved to square dance and travel. Hazel enjoyed sewing and quilting and co-owned the Fabric Hut in Pasadena, Texas for several years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearland, Texas. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and great faith were qualities admired by friends and family.
She was survived by her children, and their spouses; Carol Banowsky-Smith and Dan Smith; Jack and Carol Banowsky; Bill and Laura Banowsky; and one sister, Dede Barrow. She had six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation at South Park funeral home from 5 - 8 pm on Thursday April 25 at 1310 North Main Street. Funeral at 1 pm on Friday April 26 at First United Methodist Church, 2314 Grand Blvd. Both in Pearland, Tx.
