Arnold Edward Mach, 95, of El Campo, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2013.
Arnold was born May 10, 1917 in Pierce, Texas, to Vinc J. and Rosie Nosek Mach. Arnold married the love of his life, Doris Julian Krenek, on April 29, 1946 at St. Philip Catholic Church in El Campo. Arnold touched the lives of so many, and his daughters were so blessed to have him as a father. We have all been truly blessed by having him as a father, father-in-law-, granddad and friend. He was affectionately known as Grandpa Arney to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arnold proudly served his country as a Merchant Marine during World War II. He worked at the Pierce Runnels Ranch, Krenek Construction Company and retired from El Campo Aluminum at the age of 70.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, brothers Willie, Robert and Vinc Mach, sisters Toni Holub, Stella Lea, Ella Parker, Rosie Zgarba, Betty Constantine and Lydia Svrcina.
Arnold is survived by his daughters Peggy Christ and husband David of Lake Jackson, Nancy Brooks and husband Jim of El Campo, grandchildren Chelsea Reyes and Husband Joe of Lake Jackson, Brandon Brooks and wife Natalie of Spring, great-grandchildren Alexa, Ava, Lance, Landon, and Zach.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are V.J. Mach, Ray Mach, Joe Reyes, Brandon Brooks, Ronnie Lea, Bobby Lea, Al Genzer and Scooter Vaclavick. Honorary pallbearers are Chelsea Reyes, Natalie Brooks, Fernando Govea and E.E. Mc Cann.
Visitation will begin at 12 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2013 with a Rosary at 6:30 pm at Triska Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Friday, April 26, 2013 at St. Philip Catholic Church with the Reverend Gary Janak officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
Memorial donations in honor of Arnold may be made to St. Philip Catholic School or to Garden Villa Activities Fund.
