      Graveside services for John H. Yakesch, 87 of Milano are scheduled for 4:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 2012 in the Liberty Cemetery near Milano, with Pastor Burt Graham officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 6PM to 8PM at the funeral home.

      John H. Yakesch was born June 30, 1924 in Sharp, Texas to Alvinia Augusta (Myers) and Frank Fritz Yakesch, Sr. He attended school in Milano and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.   On November 22, 1947, he and Joyce Florence Cotten were married in Cameron. To this union three children were born.   John worked as an Atomizer Specialist with ALCOA in Rockdale. He worked there 33 and a half years. John was a "Jack of all Trades", he could fix anything including washers, water well pumps, autos.

      John passed away Friday morning, January 20th, in the Renaissance Villa in Rockdale. He was preceded in death by his parents.

      Surviving: His wife of 64 years, Joyce Yakesch of Milano. Son, Pat Yakesch of Milano. Daughters, Carolyn Vinton and husband Gary Don of Milano and Jan Yakesch of Milano. Sister; Evelyn Mickelrath of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Brother; Frank Yakesch, Jr. of Duncan, Oklahoma. 6 grandchildren, Travis Vinton of Milano, Crystal Denman & husband James of Minerva, Garry Wayne Yakesch & wife Marsha of Hanover, Ginger Morgan & husband Lee of Milano, John Alvin Yakesch & wife Shannon of Milano, Robert Yakesch of Milano. 11 great grandchildren; Kolter Travis Vinton, Stephanie Faith Rose Philpott, Patricia Raye Ann Philpott, Hannah Faye Yakesch, James Patrick Yakesch, Abbie Claire Yakesch, Morgan Taylor Yakesch, Megan Cheyenne Pendergrass, McKenzee Nicole Pendergrass, Kayli Dawn Yakesch, Kamri Lane Yakesch. One great great granddaughter; Riley Philpott.

      Serving as pallbearers; John Alvin Yakesch, Robert Yakesch, Garry Yakesch, Travis Vinton, James Denman, Freddie Pounders.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Milano Volunteer Fire Department, Box 215, Milano, Texas 76556 or to Liberty Community Church.
