      RONALD LEE OLINICK, 57 years of age, passed away Wednesday evening, April 17, 2013, at Mission Trail Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

       

      Ronny was born in San Antonio, TX, to Joe and Lorene (Sekula) Olinick on September 28, 1955. He married Tanja Cannon on May 6, 1978 at Highland Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Ronny was employed by Southwestern Bell for 31 ½ years - 25 years as a cable splicer and 6 ½ years as a construction manager. After retiring at the age of 49, he began a second career as a telecommunications designer for several firms, the last being CobbFendley.

       

      Ronny was predeceased by his father, Joe; his grandparents, Anton and Martina Olinick, and Henry and Theresa Sekula; his brother, Wendell; and much-loved uncle, Alvin Sekula.

       

      He is survived by his wife of almost 35 years, Tanja; his beloved son, Matthew and wife, Jennifer; his mother, Lorene; siblings, Vonnie and Alvin Brysch, Delvin and Laura Olinick, and Denise and Tim Ramponi; nieces and nephews, Shane and Stacey Brysch, Misty and Gus Tellez, Dustin, Rachel and Stephen Olinick, and Haley, Alex and Andrew Ramponi. Additionally, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Alice Cannon; sister-in-law, Tami Kensing; nieces, Mandi and Chris Sralla, and Kimberly and Lance Embrey; and great-nieces and nephews, Riley and Luke Brysch, Eden Tellez and Blake Moy.

       

      Visitation for Ronny began at 5:00 P.M., Friday, April 19, 2013, at Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Floresville, Texas, officiated by Reverend Mike Clements. Interment followed at the Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville, Texas. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Kvapil, Andy Ramos, Dwayne Osburg, Armando Sanchez, Wade Nollkamper, and Aldon Lyssy. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 8115 Datapoint Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78229; or to First Baptist Church, 1115 B Street, Floresville, Texas 78114.
