Estelle Frances Rother Baros, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born to the late Louis and Mary Rother in Hallettsville, Texas on February 5, 1923. Estelle grew up on the family farm just outside of Hallettsville, Texas. After graduating from Hallettsville High School, she began working as a secretary in a medical clinic in Hallettsville. In the fall of 1945, the mother of a local young man from Moulton set up a "chance" meeting between the two. He was a B-24 Navigator returned home from War, and his name was James A. Baros. The "chance" meeting blossomed into a romance that led to 53 glorious years of marriage. Her love for her husband and children was her passion. A first class lady, to the end she was the visage of elegance and grace. Whether hosting family, friends, neighborhood kids, or ranching business associates from across the globe, her home was warm, welcoming, and somehow always spotless. She had a rose bed along the side of the house in the back yard, where weeds never lasted long, and with gloves on and clippers in hand, she would pick out the largest blooms to set out in crystal vases around the house. Her greatest joy came from being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved family gatherings. "Mimi" will be remembered for her kind heart, gentleness, perseverance, and servant's spirit. Her children and grandchildren will miss her, but she has left an indelible mark upon their hearts in a way unique and special to each of them, and knowing that, they will carry forward with grace and hope, sharing Mimi with all. We will miss you, Mimi.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Baros, M.D.; sisters, Helen Grafe, Viola Chovanetz, Mildred Polk, Joyce Wagner; brother, Charles Rother.

She is survived by her children, Susan M. Dahlberg and husband, Greg, James A. Baros, Jr., M.D. and wife, Debbie, Larry W. Baros, M.D. and wife, Janie, Donna K. Osborne and husband, Jon, David L.
