Ed was born Nov. 11, 1936, to Ed and Annie Hejl Wanoreck. After graduating high school, Ed honorably served his country in the United States Army National Guard for eight years. He married the love of his life, Nola Weiss, on Sept. 10, 1960, and they shared 51 beautiful years together. Ed was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family and farming. He was very patient, kind and easy going and always had a smile on his face. He loved farming and everything about it and was very proud to be a farmer. After retirement, one of Ed's favorite things to do was to drink coffee with "the boys" at the Mereta Co-op Gin; the other was to be with his precious grandchildren whom he adored. Ed had numerous affiliations. He coached Little League baseball, was a member of the Mereta Lions Club, the Mereta Volunteer Fire Department, the Holy Family Parish Council for over 20 years, the Mereta Co-op Gin board of directors for over 20 years and the Wall Knights of Columbus. Ed was a "Good Man" and he will live on in our hearts forever!
He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Wanoreck Sr.; his brother, Eugene Wanoreck Sr.; his grandson, Kevin Wanoreck; and his father-in-law, Nolan Weiss.
Ed is survived by his loving family: wife Nola Wanoreck of Mereta; his children, Diane Goble and husband Ralph of San Angelo, Michael Wanoreck and his wife, Sharon, of Rowena, Judy Odell and husband Jeff of Mereta and Gary Wanoreck and Shanna Hite of Mereta, Texas; his mother, Annie Wanoreck, of San Angelo; his mother-in-law, Isabella Drueckhammer, of Rowena; his grandchildren, Jamie Wanoreck of Rowena, Jodi McCartney and husband Casey of Miles, Jacalyn Wanoreck and friend Mark Baxter of San Angelo, Brandi Goble of San Angelo, Cory and Darin Wanoreck of San Angelo; his great-grandchild, Emeri McCartney; and his special dog, "Gracie".
The pallbearers for the service will be his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a favorite charity.
