      SANTA FE — Mr. Victor Lawrence Verm passed from this life Sunday, January 1, 2012, in Santa Fe.

      Born September 9, 1949 in Sealy, Texas, Mr. Verm had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for two tours of duty during the Vietnam War, a welder by trade having worked for JerryCo for the last year, and was known for being a hard worker. Victor was a devoted father and Paw-Paw who loved animals, fishing, outdoors and had an intense love for the Lord.

      Preceded in death by his father, Ebbie Verm; survivors include his mother, Theresa Verm; sons, Greg Verm and wife, Stacie, Clint Verm; grandchildren, Gregory Verm Jr., Kylie Jo Verm, Presley Marie Verm; brothers, Bill Verm, Randy Verm and wife, Pim; sisters, Betty Jordan and husband, Kelly, Diane West and husband, John, Sandra Glover and husband, Tom; numerous nieces and nephews.

      Casketbearers will be Cody Carney, Erik Montemayor, Pete Noto, Jr., Jack Reeves, Billy Steele and Gregory Verm, Jr.

      Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

      Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, Pastor John Newton and Mr. Coco Brandon officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
