NORMA LEE HALLING
EL CAMPO- Norma Lee Miller Halling, a lifelong resident of El Campo, passed away on Monday April 1, 2013 at the age of 85.
Norma was born November 27, 1927 in El Campo, Texas to Leopold and Fannie Foltyn Miller, both deceased. She graduated from El Campo High School and attended the University of Texas. On February 9, 1953, Norma married Raymond Roy Halling in El Campo, a wonderful, happy union of almost 60 years. Raymond died on November 15, 2012.
Norma was not only a homemaker, she attended the First United Methodist Church, was involved in numerous clubs and organizations; B.P.O.E Ladies, Sesame, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Sunshine Ladies, BEE's, Garden Club, First United Methodist Women, and various bridge clubs. She was also honored to be a member of the Board of Directors, El Campo Memorial Hospital.
Norma loved her family and friends and was most happy when around others. She enjoyed music and dancing, the bay and deer camp, and even rodeos and Girl Scouts.
She is survived by one daughter, Leigh Ann Halling Neel and husband, Lonnie of El Campo; two grandchildren which she adored, Heather Nicole Neel Smith and husband, Paul of Tulsa, Ok, and Chance David Neel, of Houston, Tx, triplet great-grandchildren that were her ultimate blessing and joy, Halling Neel, Everett Charles, and Amelia Anne Smith, sister Marguerite Miller West, San Antonio, Texas. Nieces and nephews also brought great joy to her life and she felt blessed that they remained close throughout the years.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Triska Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 5 - 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in El Campo with the Reverend Suzanne Issacs officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
