      Stanley C. Bednarek, age 84 of Brenham, Texas passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at Scott & White Hospital-Brenham.

       

      He was born September 27, 1928 in Chappell Hill, Texas to Antoni and Helen (Cegielski) Bednarek. Stanley was baptized at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill. On February 14, 1953, Stanley married Natalie Kaminski at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

       

      Stanley worked as a steel worker at American Can Co. where he retired in January 1972. He continued life as rancher in the Gay Hill and Prairie Hill communities. Stanley loved the simple things in life especially time spent with his family. He enjoyed playing the fiddle, pitch, dominos, going fishing, and making hay.

       

      Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Antoni and Helen Bednarek, wife, Natalie and brother Edward Bednarek.

       

      Surviving members include son and daughter-in-law; Albert and Kathy Bednarek, daughters and sons-in-law; Patricia and Kenneth Lange, Dorothy and Douglas Maurer, daughter; Linda Grimm, grandchildren; Joshua Bednarek, Robin and Jeff Wagner, Sara and Chuck Nagel, Teresa Lange, Jamie and Kyle Hafner, Kelcie Maurer and boyfriend Rocky LaRoche, Amanda and Austin Grimm, great-grandchildren; Aiden Lange, Elise Nagel, sister; Edwina Kaminski, and numerous nieces and nephews.

       

      Serving as pallbearers are Joshua Bednarek, Jeff Wagner, Chuck Nagel, Kyle Hafner, Rocky LaRoche, and Paul Kaminski. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Grimm and Aiden Lange.

       

      The family would like to thank Dr. Susan Miller, Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center and staff, Hospice Brazos Valley, and Scott & White Nursing Staff for the wonderful care Stanley received.

       

      Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 5-8 PM at Brenham Memorial Chapel with rosary recited at 7PM.  Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Benedict Zientek celebrant.  Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brazos Valley Hospice, or the charity of your choice.  Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Chappell Hill.
